The Orlando Business Journal is featuring an article with quotes from Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer expressing a desire to bring a physical WWE Hall of Fame to the city of Orlando following the success of Wrestlemania back in 2008.
“From WrestleMania XXIV to World Cup, and the NBA All-Star game to the New Year’s Day Capital One Bowl, Orlando continues to support major sports and entertainment. Little did we know the 2008 [WrestleMania] event would attract more than 75,000 fans to the Citrus Bowl and almost 50,000 visitors to Orlando. Now, once again, we have the opportunity to forge a partnership between WWE and Orlando for the creation of the WWE Hall of Fame.”
A WWE spokeswoman said there is nothing to the report or comments, while president and CEO of the Central Florida Sports Commission said any talk is strictly conceptual at this point.
