Kenny Dykstra announces his retirement from pro wrestling

Kenn Doane (formerly known as Kenny Dykstra) announced on Twitter his retirement from professional wrestling.

Doane was a former member of The Spirit Squad in WWE.  The Spirit Squad, consisted of Kenny, Mikey (Mike Mondo), Johnny Jeter, Mitch Nicholas Cole Mitchell, and Nicky (Dolph Ziggler), all had in-ring personas of an all-male cheerleading squad. 

The Spirit Squad debuted on the January 23, 2006 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw.  Aftert the team was disbanded, Doane had a singles run before his release in 2008.

In 2016, Doane and Mike Mondo returned to WWE as part of The Miz’s feud with their former Spirit Squad member Dolph Ziggler, but weren’t signed to the company.

Doane and Mondo signed a deal with Major League Wrestling as The Spirit Squad on July 24, 2019.
