WWE NXT Quick Results for Tuesday June 29, 2021

The Great American Bash go-home edition of WWE NXT opened up with a video package recapping last week’s show, which included the arrival of The Diamond Mine.

– lo Shirai and Zoey Stark defeated Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart, Dakota Kai and NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez in the #1 Contender’s Triple Threat Match to earn a title opportunity on next week’s Great American themed show

Shirai went to the top and hit a big moonsault on Kai for the three count victory.

NXT Champion Karrion Kross came to the ring, and he dared Johnny Gargano to face him in the ring. Gargano then confronted Kross, which set up a grudge match. Austin Theory ran in the ring and attacked Kross. Kross fought off Theory successfully..

Kross then went after Gargano, and attempted to hit Gargano with the ring steps. Security then came out for a pull-apart. As security held back Kross, Gargano hit Kross with a superkick. Gargano and Theory quickly left building in a vehicle that took off fast.   

– Roderick Strong defeated Asher Hale by submission

Post Match: Strong hits another submission. The Diamond Mine then stood stall together in the ring. Bivens then grabbed the mic and said The Diamond Mine is open for business, and that this is just the beginning.

– Cameron Grimes defeated Ari Sterling by pinfall with the Cave-In 

– Post Match: Million Dollar Champion LA Knight came out and hit Grimes and called him a natural born loser. Grimes agreed and told Knight to watch his mouth when talking about The Million Dollar Man, or get into the ring. Grimes told Knight that he wanted Ted’s legacy, and that Knight only wants some bling. Grimes then challenged Knight to a match for the title on next week’s Great American Bash special. Knight got the fans and Grimes hyped up, and then said no, and that Grimes does not deserve a title shot.  Knight then said he is the Million Dollar Superstar. Knight finally agreed to put the title on the line and if Grimes loses, he will become Knight’s butler. 

Kyle O’Reilly and Adam Cole face-to-face

O’Reilly came to the ring, but then out came came Adam Cole. Both men were jointed by Samoa Joe.

Cole began by insulting O’Reilly’s wife, which made him mad.  As they were about to brawl, Joe stepped in, but Cole charged at O’Reilly, and they fell to the mat. O’Reilly caught Cole in heel hook as Cole screamed in pain, and begged Joe to stop tell O’Reilly to stop. Joe ignored Colem and left the ring. Joe then ordered security to go to the ring to get O’Reilly to stop. 

– Tian Sha defeated Jake Atlas and Mercedes Martinez by referee stoppage.

Li hit a roundhouse kick to the temple of Martinez. The referee checked on her and called the match.

MSK faced off with Timothy Thatcher & Tommaso Ciampa

Everyone brought steel folding chairs to the ring. Everyone sat down.  They all seemed calm at first, then tensions flared up, and they got in each others faces.

MSK wanted the Ciampa and Thatcher to respect them. Carter then slapped Thatcher, who then went after him, but Ciampa held him back. Ciampa then told MSK to bring their pride and their titles next week at The Great American Bash. 

– Isaiah “Swerve” Scott defeated Bronson Reed to become the new NXT North American Champion

Swerve went to the top rope and landed a huge 450, while Reed was still on the bottom rope, and then covered him for the three count to capture the title.

Post Match: The Hit Row’s music hit as Swerve grabbed the title and celebrated. NXT went off the air with Hit Row standing together on the stage.

It was also announced during Tuesday night’s show that the 2021 NXT Breakout Tournament will begin on July 13.
