Del Wilkes, best known as The Patriot has passed away at age 59

Former AWA, GWF, WWF and WCW star Del Wilkes, known The Patriot passed away today at age 59 due a heart attack.  According to a report from PWInsider, Wilkes’ mother made the announcement on Thursday afternoon.

Wilkes began his professional wrestling career with the American Wrestling Association in 1988.  He ended his career in the WWF in 1998 after her tore his triceps the year before.
