Zelina Vega takes to Twitter to make a statement on her return to WWE

Zelina Vega took to Twitter last to comment on her return to WWE.  She noted that she is going to be in the SmackDown Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.  She also went on to say she is going to win the match.

Vega was released from her WWE contract back on November 13, 2020 following issues with the company’s edict about Twitch accounts.  She was also vocal about professional wrestling needing to be unionized.

In February of this year, AEW CEO and President Tony Khan had said he was interested in possibly signing Vega after she became a free agent.  Reports then surfaced in March that Vega had signed an undisclosed short-term deal that wouldn’t allow her to work for another wrestling company. On May 13, we reported that Vega had been at the WWE Performance Center “working on plan for her to return to the company.”

Vega’s real-life husband Tom Budgen (Aleister Black) was released from WWE on June 2 as a part of budget cuts.  Shortly after his release, it was being said there that there was a “strong belief” that Budgen will be heading to AEW when his non-compete end on August 31, 2021. However, it was also being said there had been talk in WWE that the company made a mistake in cutting Bugden, and that WWE may make him an offer to return, which could “change the equation.”
