Desmond Troy (real name Denzel Dejournette) took to Twitter late last night to reveal he has been released from WWE.
Troy signed with WWE in July 2018. His last match took place back on the July 2 edition of WWE 205 Live, losing to Joe Gacy. Prior to that match, he wrestled on the December 16, 2020 episode NXT, losing to Karrion Kross. He made an appearance on the March 5, 2021 episode of Friday Night SmackDown as one of the Elite Nigerian Guards working for Apollo Crews.
WWE has now released a total of 13 NXT talents. The company released 12 talents and one referee as Friday Night SmackDown was airing last night on FOX.
Life is tough, but it’s about time I got some adversity to see what I’m made of. What a way to start the weekend. Thank you @TripleH and @WWENXT for the opportunity. There’s power in the name and with a name like Denzel Dejournette I can’t and won’t lose! ✌🏾
