Former WWE Superstar reportedly back with company working on Raw creative team

According to PWInsider, former WWE Superstar Drake Maverick is back with WWE as part of the creative team.

The report notes that Maverick, real name James Curtin, started working behind the scenes for the Raw brand about three to four weeks ago.

He was originally signed with WWE back in 2017, and appeared as the General Manager for the now defunct 205 Live show. He was also a short-term manager for the Authors of Pain on the Raw. He held the 24/7 Championship seven times. He was released by WWE back on April 15, 2020 as part of budget cuts due to COVID-19. He then released an emotional video on social media got huge support from the fans, which then lead to WWE re-signing him, where he would then appear for NXT. He was cut again on November 18, 2021 as part of budget cuts.

Prior to signing with WWE, he wrestled as Rockstar Spud in IMPACT Wrestling from 2012 to 2017.
