Rick Boogs injury update from WrestleMania 38 Night One: Will require surgery

Rick Boogs will be out of action for the foreseeable future, will require surgery

WWE SmackDown Superstar Rick Boogs will be out of action for the foreseeable future from an injury he sustained during WrestleMania 38 Night One, as he and Shinsuke Nakamura were challenging the Usos for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships.

The match appeared to end a bit early after Boogs suffered the injury. There was a moment in the match where Boogs had Jey Uso on his shoulders, and then tried to add Jimmy Uso for a double Fireman’s Carry. However, as soon as Jimmy jumped up onto Boogs’ shoulders, Boogs’ knee gave out, and then he went down to mat with The Usos.

After the spot, Boogs immediately rolled to the floor and spent the rest of the match getting checked out by trainers. The Usos then worked over Nakamura for a few more minutes and hit their finishing move, the 1D to retain the championships.

After the match ended, Nakamura joined Boogs at ringside while The Usos made their exit. Boogs had his knee wrapped up, as the trainers helped him make his way to the backstage area.

The initial diagnosis was that Boogs torn his quad. Michael Cole and Pat McAfee announced Boogs suffered a torn quad and the patellar tendon, which will require surgery. It was said that the surgery will take place in the next couple of days.

There is still no word on how long Boogs could be out of action.

From the entire staff at Wrestleview, we wish Rick Boogs a full and speedy recovery.
