New stipulation added to Undisputed WWE Universal Title Match on SmackDown

A new stipulation has been added to this Friday’s Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match between Roman Reigns and Riddle.

Monday’s WWE Raw opened up with Paul Heyman as the guest on Miz TV. Riddle came out to confront Heyman, who then told Riddle if he were to lose the title match against Reigns, he could never receive another title shot as long as Reigns is the champion.

Riddle earned the championship match on last Friday night’s SmackDown after defeating Sami Zayn. The stipulations for that match were that if Riddle were to win, he would get a championship match against Reigns, but if he lost, he would then be barred from Friday Night SmackDown.

This will be the first title defense for Reigns on WWE television, since unifying the WWE and Universal titles at WrestleMania 38, defeating Brock Lesnar. Reigns had been successfully defending the title at house shows against Drew McIntyre. His last match on WWE TV was the six-man tag team match at WrestleMania Backlash last month, where he and The Usos were victorious over Drew McIntyre, Riddle, and Randy Orton.
