‘WrestleMania: The World Premiere’ comes to NBC
For the third consecutive year, NBC and WWE will bring the world’s biggest pop-culture extravaganza to network television when WrestleMania: The World Premiere airs Saturday, Aug. 13, at 9/8 CT. For one night only, NBC will be the place viewers can witness their favorite WWE Superstars such as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, John Cena, Triple H, Undertaker, The Miz and Randy Orton entertain a record-breaking, sold-out crowd of 71,617 fans at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
The hour-long special will feature highlights from WrestleMania XXVII, including: the return of the The People’s Champion, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who served as The World’s Most Electrifying Host of WrestleMania. See the Jersey Shore’s beloved Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi proving to the world how tough she really is in a six-person tag team match with Dolph Ziggler, WWE Divas LayCool, Vickie Guerrero, John Morrison and USA Network’s Tough Enough trainer Trish Stratus. Plus, witness an historic match between two of the greatest WWE Superstars of all time, Undertaker and Triple H, that had more than 71,000 fans on their feet in awe of this classic match-up. Also see the highly anticipated main-event between bitter rivals John Cena and The Miz for the WWE Championship, all set to music from today’s hottest acts.
WWE again made history as WrestleMania became the highest grossing entertainment event in its host city, for the third year in a row. A total of 71,617 fans from all 50 states and 30 countries attended the event on April 3, 2011, at the Georgia Dome, surpassing the previous attendance record set by the Backstreet Boys (65,658) on Feb. 19, 2000.
