Bad Bunny to host WWE Backlash from Puerto Rico

WWE issued a press release on Wednesday morning that WWE Backlash will be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Saturday, May 6.

Two-time Grammy Award-winning artist Bad Bunny will be the host of the event, being held at el Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot.

This will be the first premium live event held in Puerto Rico since New Year’s Revolution in January 2005, over 18 years ago. Presale registration is open for the event, but no official on-sale date has been announced yet.

Bad Bunny began making appearances for WWE starting at the 2021 Royal Rumble, which would eventually culminate in a match at WrestleMania 37. Bad Bunny would team with Damian Priest in a winning effort against The Miz and John Morrison. His last appearance came at the 2022 Royal Rumble as a surprise entrant. He would be eliminated by Brock Lesnar.

In the press release, Bad Bunny stated, “In 2005 when I was a kid, I wasn’t able to attend New Year’s Revolution at el Coliseo… Finally, 18 years later WWE returns to the island with a massive event and this time I won’t miss it.”
