WrestleCon has issued a statement on the incident between Gisele Shaw and WWE Hall of Famer Rick Steiner that took place at their convention on Friday.

According to Shaw, in a statement on Twitter, Steiner told Gisele that she is a man, a dude, a piece of trash, filth and told her to get the F— away…”

Wrestlecon took to Twitter on Saturday, issuing their own statement on Twitter, apologizing to Shaw.

Impact Wrestling referee Daniel Spencer took to Twitter to confirm the incident that took place between Shaw and Steiner.

According to PWInsider, Steiner was told that he was not allowed to enter or take part in the remainder of WrestleCon’s events this weekend. It was further noted that Steiner was not booked by the convention itself, but was brought in by a third-party vendor that purchased table space at the event. PWInsider concluded by saying that Wrestlecon is attempting to have a meeting between Shaw and Steiner about the incident, but as of this writing that has not happened.

Steiner is currently a member of the Cherokee County School District’s Board of Education in Cherokee County, Georgia.
