WWE Chairman Vince McMahon was featured in last night’s ESPN Films “The Real Rocky” focusing on boxer Chuck Wepner. Wepner fought Muhammad Ali in 1975 for the world’s Heavyweight title and that fight was based off the screenplay for Sylvester Stallone’s “Rocky” films.
In the film, McMahon talks about Wepner’s match with Andre the Giant at Shea Stadium and how that match inspired the role of Hulk Hogan on “Rocky 3.” McMahon was also featured near the end of the documentary giving advice to Stallone to settle with Wepner out of court in regards to a lawsuit Wepner brought against Stallone for not “paying him a dime” for any of the films.
