Florida Championship Wrestling Results

Report by: Jason Namako of Wrestleview.com

Hello everyone, I hope you all had a good weekend and are now ready to join me in the latest trek to the land of the Sunshine State with this week’s FCW recap. So if you all are ready, strap on your seatbelts, and let’s get on with the show!

Our announcers this week are Matt Martlaro and Byron Saxton.

Martlaro & Saxton hype up this week’s big main event as Dean Ambrose will take on the wily British veteran in one William Regal.

Video is shown of comments from both Ambrose & Regal after their brawl last week to close FCW, who then interrupt one another during the course of their comments and brawl with each other before security and other wrestlers have to come in both times and break them up.

FLORIDA FEEDBACK: Liked both guys’ promos, talking about how important the match is to them, before the brawl that takes place both times to interrupt their promos. Loved the intensity of both men, especially Ambrose, and I cannot wait to see this match later in show.

Mr. Antonio Cesaro def. FCW Tag Team Champion CJ Parker by pinfall with the Pop-Up European Uppercut.

FLORIDA FEEDBACK: Solid match, Cesaro sold a lot more in this match than he did in his debut. Parker got in some nice babyface comeback offense, and sold well for Cesaro’s moveset. Solid effort and another good showcase for Cesaro.

Percy Watson & Titus O’Neil def. Brad Maddox & Briley Pierce by pinfall after O’Neil pinned Pierce with the Clash of the Titus.

FLORIDA FEEDBACK: Nothing much to the match, other than a continuation of the Pierce-Maddox angle. Watson & O’Neil get a good showcase win in their quest to win the Tag Team Titles, and it continues the Maddox/Pierce storyline. Decent for what it was.

Abraham Washington def. Erick Rowan by submission with an armbar. After the match, James Bronson attacks Washington and locks him the Death Wish armbar submission, before many officials have to pull the incensed Bronson off of the injured Washington.

FLORIDA FEEDBACK: Good match as Rowan continues to impress with his simple, but effective big man style. Washington is getting better and better as a FIP, and a nice flash win with the armbar. Which leads now to a feud with the submission specialist in Bronson, who got over the story of the new rivalry with Washington by being so incensed that Washington, who is not a submission guy, would dare use one of Bronson’s holds. Nice backstory and good beginning to a new rivalry in FCW between the loudmouth babyface in Washington, and the MMA-like brute in Bronson. Good stuff.

Main Event: William Regal def. Dean Ambrose by pinfall with the Knee Trembler.

FLORIDA FEEDBACK: Just a really good match these two put on. Regal shows that he still has it in the ring and is still one of the top performers in the WWE from a wrestling aspect. Told a great story, with Ambrose bringing out the sheer evilness to Regal, with the damage done in the match to Ambrose’s arm. Ambrose, while he didn’t get a great amount of offense, was great in both his selling and his continued taunting of Regal, saying “Is that the best you got?” and continuing to get up and taunt Regal to do more vicious things to him, that just brings out the demented character of Ambrose, that continues to shine each and every week. Very good match, definitely something I would recommend watching. Hats off to both Regal and Ambrose for a great effort.

Overall, solid episode of FCW. Solid stuff with Cesaro, Watson & O’Neil, and the Washington/Rowan match, and a very good main event with Regal/Ambrose.

My Grade: B-

Well, that will do it for this week’s trek to the land of Sunshine State. Hope you all enjoyed yourself and I will see you again next week for more F-C-W!
