IYO SKY will defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Asuka in two weeks on Friday Night SmackDown.
In match on Friday night’s SmackDown with IYO SKY and Bayley taking on Charlotte Flair and Shotzi, Asuka cost SKY and Bayley the match by distracting the two Damage CTRL members. After the, Asuka then got in the ring and confronted SKY.
Later in the show, SKY said she is ready for Asuka and then challenged her to a title match. WWE then confirmed the match and announced it would take place on the September 22 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.
John Cena is also scheduled to appear on the show.
The September 22 episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown will air live on FOX and take place from the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, AZ.
