WWE reportedly makes changes to commentary teams for Raw and SmackDown

WWE reportedly has made changes to the Raw and SmackDown commentary teams.

According to PWInsider and F4WOnline, Michael Cole will be exclusive to Raw going forward. It was further said that both Raw and SmackDown will have a two-person commentary team beginning in this new year of 2024.

Neither report indicated who will serve as the color-commentator on Raw and SmackDown.

Cole had been working commentary on both Raw and SmackDown, after it was announced last August that Kevin Patrick would be leaving Raw and moving over to SmackDown to work alongside Cole and Corey Graves. Wade Barrett, who had been doing color commentary on SmackDown, moved to Raw with Cole.

Moving Patrick to SmackDown was done to help him improve and develop his role as a play by play announcer, by tapping into Cole’s 25-year’s of experience. When the move was first announced by Variety, per the report, an individual with knowledge of the situation said that WWE remained high on Patrick and thought that pairing him with Cole would only benefit his growth as a broadcaster.

Cole has only missed two shows with WWE during his 25-years with the company.

As of this writing, WWE not made any official announcement.
