Biopic film ‘Smashing Machine’ starring The Rock set to shoot this summer

Following a previous report that The Rock will be starring in a biopic covering MMA fighter Mark Kerr, PWInsider has confirmed when the film is slated to begin filming.

The Smashing Machine, a film adaptation of the 2002 documentary about the two-time UFC Heavyweight Tournament winner, has begun casting for ‘a number of supporting characters’ and is slated to film from May through August 2024, marking a period in which The Rock would be unavailable for in-ring competition in WWE later in the year.

The former WWE Champion teams with Roman Reigns to take on Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins on Night 1 of WrestleMania 40, which takes place Saturday, April 6 and Sunday, April 7 from Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
