Former WWE talent signs with Buffalo Bills

ESPN has reported that Gable Steveson has signed a three-year deal with the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League, notably a standard contract for a rookie joining the league.

The news comes after Steveson’s release from WWE on May 3, after a stint largely consisting of live event matches following a bout against Baron Corbin at NXT’s Great American Bash event in July 2023.

Recognizing the leap from his run in collegiate wrestling to pro football, Steveson said:

I have been fortunate to compete at the highest level of competition in my sport but am looking forward to the challenge of seeing how my wrestling skills may translate to football.

I am grateful to Coach [Sean] McDermott, [GM] Brandon Beane and the Buffalo Bills organization for giving me this opportunity.

This marks the latest shift in Stevenson’s career focus, following a run at the 2023 US Open Wrestling Championships and winning a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
