WWE defends programming with attacks on Linda

Wrestleview’s Tom Van Stone passed along this blog by the Hartford Courant looking at Linda McMahon’s upcoming U.S. Senate campaign in Connecticut. The article notes WWE engaging opponent Chris Shays in a “war on women” regarding past WWE programming.

“It’s unclear why WWE’s top leadership would decide to engage Chris Shays in an extended, public discussion about whether Linda McMahon’s family business is about “violence, bullying, degradation of minorities and women,” but here we ago again. In a letter this week to the Shays campaign, WWE executive vice president Robert Zimmerman takes issue with comments Shays recently made to The Weekly Standard. Once again, a candidate is presented with the chance to contrast WWE’s view of its product with all those videos floating around the net.”
