Dave Meltzer has reported that former WCW and TNA announcer Mike Tenay was discussed for an announcing role at the upcoming Worlds Collide event, bringing together talents from WWE and AAA.
In the most recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer noted Tenay’s history with the namesake event, having started his career at the 1994 collaboration between AAA and WCW, but could not confirm if the TNA Hall of Famer was contacted or scheduled for the event emanating from Kia Forum in Inglewood, California on June 7.
He also noted that the former AAA English language announcers Joe Dombrowski and Larry Dallas were not doing the show, and that the announce team has been “kept quiet.”
Worlds Collide begins a busy day for WWE, which culminates with Money in the Bank that night from the Intuit Dome just down the street.
