In an interview with CBS Sports, Bianca Belair shared a curious update regarding the injury she sustained during her WrestleMania 41 match with Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky.
Revealing that a finger with multiple fractures is keeping her from making a return to in-ring action, the former WWE Women’s Champion noted the severity of the injury.
I broke it in three places and the joint. It healed, but it won’t bend. You can’t wrestle with a straight finger because it’ll break again… I can’t even sew right now. I can’t even make gear.
Belair is waiting to see if surgery is needed, but teased that an appearance at SummerSlam might not be out of the question, after taking on a special guest referee role at Evolution in the match between Jade Cargill and Naomi.
We’re on the tail end of this healing process, so we might have time. But you never know. Crazy things happen.
WrestleMania 41 is one of the topics covered in the upcoming Netflix docuseries WWE: Unreal, premiering on the streaming service on July 29.
WWE SummerSlam takes place Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3 from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
