Joe Tessitore who has been the play-by-play announcer for WWE SmackDown and is now moved over to Raw, appeared on ESPN Sports Center to discuss Wrestlepalooza, which is the first WWE premium live even to air on the new ESPN streaming service.
Tessitore revealed the main event will be John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar. This will be Lesnar’s first match since SummerSlam 2023. Lesnar had not been used by WWE after being named in the ongoing sex trafficking, sexual abuse and harassment lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE. Lesnar made his surprise return to WWE at the end of the main event title match at SummerSlam night 2o, attacking Cena he dropped the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes.
It should be no surprise Cena vs. Lesnar will be the main event for Wrestlepalooza, as it has been speculated for several weeks.
Wrestlepalooza will take place on Saturday, September 20 at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis Indiana, beginning at 7:00 pm ET/4:00 pm PT, just one hour after the start of AEW’s All Out PPV.
