October 13, 2012
Report by: Rocky Jimenez of Wrestleview.com
Rub the dust out your eyes, get on your favorite slippers, pour yourself a bowl of Boo Berry, and plant your seat in front of The Vortex on CW, because it’s time for another edition of WWE SatMor SLAM!
Scott Stamford welcomes us to the show, and mentions that this week’s main event will feature Sin Cara facing off against Jinder Mahal. But, we kick things off with a bang, as the Slam starts right now.
This leads to us going to… ring action? The Miz is making his way to the ring, and Santino is on commentary this week. So it looks like we have two matches today. Well then, lets kick things off with The Intercontinental Champion facing off against The Cape Town Werewolf!
The Miz vs. Justin Gabriel (Non-Title)
No quirky stuff to kick off this match. They go into a lock up, and Miz hits a quick hip toss. Miz taunts the crowd, they lock up, Miz hits an arm drag, a begins to taunt the crowd again. Another lock up, Miz with a bodyslam, and more taunting the crowd. Miz is feeling very arrogant, and even does a Regal roll as the two circle the ring again. As they go to lock up, Miz gets Gabriel into a headlock. However, Gabriel is able to push him off the ropes, attempts to trip Miz, leapfrogs Miz, and then hits Miz with a hip toss, arm drag, and bodyslam of his own. He goes fo the pin, but Gabriel only gets one. Gabriel gets Miz into an arm wrench, which Miz is able to reverse into his own. Gabriel does some flips to reverse it and tosses Miz away, then gets him into a very unique pin, but Miz kicks out at two. Gabriel goes to toss Miz into the corner, but Miz reverses it with more force and Gabriel hits the corner hard. Miz picks up Gabriel and whips him hard into the opposite corner. Miz taunt the crowd again, and picks up Gabrel to hit a suplex in the middle of the ring. He floats over for a pin, but only gets two. He then picks up Gabriel to hit a variant side slam, and pins him again, but still only gets a two count. Miz taunts the crowd again, and goes to boot the sitting prone Justin in the face, but Gabriel moves out of the way, and goes for a quick roll up, but only a two. Gabriel gets up and slumps in the corner, which Miz goes to splash him, but Gabriel moves out of the way. Gabriel goes for a clothesline, but Miz tosses him to the apron, where Gabriel lands on his feet. Miz goes after him, but Gabriel slips under him and hits a huge flying shoulder tackle. This sets up Gabriel to go for the lionsault, but Miz moves and, as Gabriel gets up, hits him with the Skull Crushing Finale to pick up the win!
WINNER: The Miz

We come back, and it’s time to discuss some of the most important things wrestlers use these days. Of course I’m talking about entrance themes. Today, we are gonna get a behind the music look at the creations of some of the most iconic music in wrestling history. And we kick things off with putting the WWE Superstars into The 3rd Degree!
THE 3RD DEGREE – Which superstar has/had the best theme ever?
Kofi Kingston – The Ultimate Warrior
Daniel Bryan – Ultimate Warrior
Beth Phoenix – Kane
Layla – The LayCool Theme
Kaitlyn – Brodus Clay
Dolph Ziggler – Stone Cold Steve Austin
John Cena – “Well, of course that would be my own.” But he does mention it’s because he gets to come out and enter tain the WWE Universe.
We come back, and Scott mentions it is hard to pick the best out of them all. But one man is in charge of creating those catchy tunes, and he may just have the coolest job in the world. So let’s meet Double J, Jim Johnston.
We are inside WWE Studios with Jim. He shows us all the equipment that he uses to compose the WWE theme songs. He mentions that some of his favorite themes are The Rock, Stone Cold, BigShow, The Game, and DX. He even gives us a few guitar riffs of a couple of them. He tells us to practice and it will get you into a path into music.

We come back, and Sin Cara is on his way to the ring. So, let’s get into our main event today as the lights dim for this match!
Sin Cara vs. Jinder Mahal
Sin Cara starts doing front flips towards Mahal, which causes Mahal to escape the ring. Mahal begins to argue with Santino, but gets back into the ring. They lock up, and Mahal tosses Sin Cara down. They lock back up and Mahal hits him with a bodyslam. They go to lock up again, and it looks like Mahal is going to hit another bodyslam, but Sin Cara slides off and nails Mahal in the back with a drop kick. Mahal goes after Sin Cara, but he trips Mahal up with a drop toe hold, and then rolls Mahal up, but only gets a two count. They lock up, and Sin Cara works the wrist of Mahal, goes over to the corner and does some sort of flip into an arm drag, which causes Mahal to retreat back to the outside.

Before we go back to action, Justin Gabriel grants us with a “Don’t Try This” spot.
Back in the ring, Jinder Mahal whips Sin Cara hard into the corner. He goes for a pin, but only gets two. Mahal then puts Sin Cara into a variation surf board stretch, but Sin Cara is able to turn around into a pin, and only gets two before Mahal kicks out and headbutts Sin Cara in the gut. He gets Sin Cara up, and hits him with a snap butterfly suplex. Mahal goes for a pin, but only gets two. Mahal whips him hard into the corner again. He picks up Sin Cara, and hits him with a sidewalk slam and pins him for only two. He then gets him into a bear hug, which Sin Cara fights out of and tries to hits the ropes, but Jinder has him by the tights and turns him into a short spinebuster. Mahal picks him up and looks like he is going to slam him, but Sin Cara fights out and goes for the handspring elbow, followed by a leg scissors. He goes after Mahal on the rope, but Mahal brings his foot up and looks to boot Sin Cara, but Sin Cara instead grabs his foot and tosses him over the ropes. Sin Cara then does a spinning cross body to the outside on Mahal. He places Mahal back into the ring and goes for the same splash on the inside of the ring, which becomes a pin, but Sin Cara gets a two. Sin Cara is fired up, but Mahal cuts him off with a shot to the gut, and then hits Sin Cara with a powerbomb, pinning him for only two. Mahal goes for another powerbomb, but Sin Cara reverses it into a facecrusher. This allows Sin Cara to go to the top rope, and he hits the senton for the win!
WINNER: Sin Cara
THOUGHTS
Ok, this was more for the wrestling fan and less for the kids. I enjoyed the show, but it may not have been what they needed to do to grab the kid audience. I understand that kids shows have become hits with the older crowd (trust a brony on this one), but this has been targeted towards school kids, and has not shown that it is trying to get all of its fans involved. Stick with what has been working guys, not trying to follow internet trends with television shows, especially when I’m probably the only one in this age range watching.
Miz and Gabriel was a fun little match. Not really a lot to say on this one, but I did think it was a nice little twist to have Miz win, since every week has been going to the faces.
The middle segment wasn’t great. I figured we would have maybe a history of themes in WWE, or a look at stuff like the Battle of the Bands between Cena and Jericho. I know I expected more, but since they have had themes on all these shows, I figured it would be the same here.
Sin Cara is become a great athlete in the ring, but they could not have chosen a worse guy to put him in the ring with. I am not a Jinder Mahal fan, and after this match, I cannot see why they have him on WWE television. He needs more work. His spinebuster was more like he just kinda pushed him. I don’t know, it just looked weird. Mahal needs more work before he should be on the main roster.
Well, that’s all from me. If you don’t mind, gotta go reserve my copy of the MLP comic so I can get the exclusive cover. Until next week everybody!
