AJ Styles explains off-air WWE Raw promo

In an interview with the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, AJ Styles talked about the promo he cut on the 9/8 edition of WWE Raw.

The promo, which aired during a commercial break, saw the former WWE Champion claim that “somebody” did not want him in WWE anymore and that things were being engineered so he could not win his matches.

Styles explained the purpose of the promo, which was posted on WWE’s social media accounts and even uploaded to the company’s YouTube channel:

It was something I was trying to set up that I don’t think is going to happen. And it’s not necessarily not true, but I’m not talking about Triple H. So, I want to clear that. But, yeah, that’s about all I can say about it.

Styles, one half of the World Tag Team Champions alongside Dragon Lee, previously announced that he will retire from in-ring competition sometime in 2026.
