WWE has uploaded footage from after WWE Raw went off the air on 11/19, in which CM Punk reflects on the impact of John Cena’s WWE career.
The two men have a great deal of history over the years, most recently facing off at Night of Champions when Punk challenged for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Addressing the fans in Madison Square Garden, the reigning World Heavyweight Champion acknowledged that for quite some time Cena has “steered the boat,” before noting how Cody Rhodes and The Usos have begun doing that in recent years.
Punk ultimately says it’s the fans in New York City who steer the boat, thanking the fans for their support.
The 11/19 edition of Raw was John Cena’s last appearance on the flagship program of WWE, before his final match for the company on the 12/13 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event.
