According to Fightful Select, former NXT Women’s North American Champion Blake Monroe has been under consideration for a call-up to the Raw roster. The report adds there was also discussion that immediate plans with Monroe could change, including as soon as this week.
Monroe is set for a rematch with Thea Hail for the Women’s North American Championship on Tuesday’s New Year’s Evil episode of NXT. Monroe lost the title to Hail in the main event of the December 17 episode of NXT. The botched spot, which also involved referee Felix Fernandez, saw the finish Hail win the title after she landed on Monroe with a springboard backwards drop that knocked the wind out of Monroe, making her unable to kick out in time.
It was also previously reported that Monroe was injured and unhappy after the finish.
The 27-year-old Monroe, who wrestled as Mariah May in AEW, signed with WWE in June of last year after a two-year run in Tony Khan’s company and also had a run as the Women’s World Champion during her time there.
