Bella Twins trained by Bryan Danielson before WWE Royal Rumble; Credits Nick Khan for comeback

During her recent appearance on the Notsam Wrestling Live! podcast, WWE Hall of Famer talked on how she was trained by her husband, Bryan Danielson ahead of last Saturday’s Royal Rumble. Danielson also helped train his sister-in-law, Nikki Bella as well.

“Obviously, my husband might be one of the greatest coaches in the world. And he’s a very hard coach.”

Nikki responded with, “I mean, you should see my text message from him. I’m showing (William) Regal, like, ‘So this is what Bryan wants me to practice today.’”

Danielson is still under contract with AEW and filled in for Taz on color-commentary on Dynamite while he was recovering from shoulder surgery. Since Taz’s recent return to commentary, Danielson has not appeared on AEW programming.

Also on the same episode, the Bella’s spoke on their return to WWE and credited Nick Khan for their comebacks.

Brie: “I’ve been wanting to come back. I would joke about it a lot, but yeah, I kept hearing no, and so when it came Thanksgiving time, I was like, ‘Alright, I’m not going back,’ and so, I kind of just started to look at 2026 differently. I had a couple other opportunities that were put on the table, so I started to engage in those, and then Nick Khan all of a sudden called me, and I wasn’t expecting it, and just really wanted me back. I was very shocked, and I was like, ‘Alright….’ And I’m grateful to Nick for bringing me back because I definitely thought the door was closed, and I’m happy that it reopened.”

Nikki: “I remember when I got my call from Nick. It’s so unexpected, and then you’re like, whoa, that’s life-changing.”

On this past Monday’s WWE Raw, the Bella’s put the current Women’s Tag Team Champions Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY on notice, saying they are coming after the belts.
