Dwayne Johnson given award by the University of Miami

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was given the Edward T. Foote II Alumnus of Distinction Award by the University of Miami earlier this month on 4/18. According to a report by Dave Meltzer, the award is “given to an alumni who has been successful in their field and has made a significant impact through community service.” It is considered to be one of the highest forms of honor a graduate of the University of Miami can receive. Johnson has donated several millions of dollars to the University of Miami Alumni center for the renovation of facilities and locker rooms for football. They have since renamed the college locker room the Dwayne Johnson Locker Room. Johnson accepted the award giving a speech at the induction ceremony and talked about learning discipline in college that allowed him to become a success in wrestling and film.
