Rich Brennan joins SmackDown announce team

On the Aug. 27 edition of SmackDown, the best show on Thursday night welcomed a new voice to the table, play-by-play announcer Rich Brennan. Coincidently, Brennan’s inaugural show aired from his home state of Rhode Island.

Many members of the WWE Universe are already familiar with the dynamic announcer, thanks to his work as a commentator for WWE NXT.

As a child, Brennan’s sole desire was to one day become a WWE announcer. And it was after working with “Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling” that the former World Champion first helped him get involved with WWE’s Performance Center. In his time with NXT, Brennan not only called matches every day, but also immersed himself in learning everything he could able the business. He feels very fortunate for the time he has had with the organization, “riding that wave” as NXT has grown expediently in both popularity and excitement, while working with truly amazing people like the late WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes.

Brennan is certainly no stranger to the broadcast booth. Prior to joining NXT, he announced for numerous hockey and arena football teams, Major League Soccer, and has even worked as a sports anchor for KGBT-TV in Harlingen, Texas.

SmackDown welcomes Rich Brennan to Thursday nights!
