WWE tried to get Jeff Hardy to stay

According to a new report by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE was still trying to get Jeff Hardy to stay with the company right up until the last minute. Hardy was offered a big money deal where he wouldn’t have to work any house show events and only TV tapings and Pay Per View events. WWE has never offered a deal like this in the past including to top names like The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels who work limited dates to begin with.

Were told the company has made efforts to sign him to an exclusive merchandise contract that would allow them to continue to create more merchandise for him and keep him signed to prevent him from going anywhere else in wrestling while he is on his hiatus. As of now, Hardy is contractually free to do whatever he wants although he has given every indication that he wants to take a break from anything wrestling related.

As reported on earlier, he has been given some big money offers for appearances and plans to commit to only a few as he concentrates on his reality show and band.
