Hart Dynasty on a return to Canada

Tim Baines of The Ottawa Sun has an article up on Slam Wrestling with WWE stars Tyson Kidd and Natalya of The Hart Dynasty. Here are some of the highlights.

On a return to Canada in Edmonton this Tuesday night:

Natalya: “t’s going to be a huge night for us. It feels like we’ve come full circle, like we’ve finally made it. It’s been so much of a journey, so much of a climb to get here. I wish my grandfather could be here to see it. We’re the last students of the Hart dungeon. It’s been a struggle, regardless of the family ties. It would have been easy for the family to make a phone call, but it’s not like that. We had to work to get here. And this is where we want to be.”

Tyson Kidd: “There’s a chance they might actually like us in Edmonton. But it could be that there’s some dissension between Edmonton and Calgary (where they’re from). It’s a surreal feeling to be doing what we’re doing. It’s very scary, but it’s very fun.”

On wrestling under the age of 18 in Calgary years ago:

Tyson Kidd: “We were all under 18. We didn’t know anything at the time. The year after, I started going to Bret’s house every day. We put in miles and miles on the road. And it all comes down to Tuesday in Edmonton. I’m so excited. To me, a lot of factions run their course, but the Hart Foundation never finished. They never had a full run. We’re a continuation, but we’re going to make our own path, too.”

On being surrounded by wrestling as a kid:

Natalya: “I was surrounded by wrestling when I was growing up. There were rings in our yard and there was the dungeon. Divas didn’t exist. When Trish came in, she changed the face of women’s wrestling. She helped reinvent what women do in this industry. She made me go, ‘Whoa, this is what I want to do.’ Tyson, David and myself, we’re the last of a dying breed. We’ve travelled the world. We’re relentless. We won’t stop until we achieve what we want to do. My grandfather told me: “You’ll never work a day in your life as long as you love what you do. And I’m so happy. I love this. I love what I’m doing.”
