Breakdown of WWE’s second quarter

WWE released its second quarter earnings earlier today. The full press release can be viewed at thislink. Here is a breakdown of all the figures released today by WWE.

* Revenues totaled $138.8 million as compared to $129.7 million in the prior year quarter.

* Operating income was $28.1 million as compared to $12.0 million in the prior year quarter.

* Net income was $19.9 million, or $0.27 per share, as compared to $7.0 million, or $0.10 per share, in the prior year quarter.

* WrestleMania 25 contributed in aggregate approximately $32.2 million of revenues and $15.0 million of profit contribution ($9.7 million, net of tax) and $0.13 of EPS from across various business lines.

* WrestleMania 25 contributed approximately $31.3 million of revenues, $7.1 million of profit contribution ($4.6 million, net of tax) and $0.06 of EPS from across various business lines in the first quarter of 2008.

Figures as of June 30, 2009

* Live event revenue: $109.2 million.

Revenues from Live and Televised Entertainment businesses were $109.2 million for the current quarter as compared to $86.8 million in the prior year quarter.

Live Event revenues were $34.4 million as compared to $35.3 million in the prior year quarter. WrestleMania 25 generated approximately $8.4 million in live event related revenue in the current quarter. Excluding WrestleMania, revenues declined 26% due to lower average ticket prices and lower average attendance at international events.

There were 78 events, including 27 international events, during the current quarter as compared to 83 events, including 31 international events, in the prior year quarter.

North American events generated $20.6 million of revenues from 51 events as compared to $14.3 million from 52 events in the prior year quarter. North American average attendance increased 19% to approximately 8,200 from 6,900 in the prior year quarter. The average ticket price for North American events was $46.25 in the current quarter as compared to $40.13 in the prior year quarter.

International events generated approximately $13.8 million of revenues as compared to $21.0 million in the prior year quarter.

* Consumer products: $20.9 million.

* Digital media: $7.9 million.

* WWE Studios: $800,000.

Other figures

* Venue Merchandise revenues were $6.3 million as compared to $5.2 million in the prior year quarter.

* Television Rights Fees revenues were $28.3 million as compared to $24.7 million in the prior year quarter.

* WWE Classics on Demand? revenues were $1.5 million as compared to $1.8 million in the prior year quarter.

* Home Video net revenues were $8.6 million as compared to $18.5 million in the prior year quarter.

* Licensing revenues were $9.0 million in both the current and prior year quarter.

* Magazine publishing net revenues were $3.0 million as compared to $4.3 million in the prior year quarter.

* WWE.com revenues were $4.5 million as compared to $4.0 million in the prior year quarter.

* WWEShop revenues were $3.4 million as compared to $3.9 million in the prior year quarter.
