WWE announces new Mixed Match Challenge starting January 16 on Facebook Watch

Mixed Match Challenge

WWE announced a new series called Mixed Match Challenge that will begin airing as part of the Facebook Watch video on demand service beginning on January 16, 2018.

The show will air every Tuesday night live at 10:00 p.m. Eastern (9:00 CT) for a 12-episode series featuring talent from RAW and Smackdown Live in “single-elimination mixed tag-team tournament to win $100,000 to support the charity of their choice.”

What that means for 205 Live tapings going forward remains to be seen during the 12-week period the show is scheduled to air on Facebook. The announcement emphasized the show would “stream live”, meaning it could be pre-taped from the night prior at RAW.

The announcement by WWE on Wednesday morning noted that “fans will have the opportunity to vote on Facebook for the final competitor from the Raw roster, as well as which tag team member of The New Day will be added to the SmackDown Live roster.” Teams will be determined on January 4 following the online fan vote.

Included from RAW: Alexa Bliss, Alicia Fox, Asuka, Bayley, Braun Strowman, Enzo Amore, Finn Balor, Goldust, Nia Jax, Sasha Banks and The Miz.

Included from Smackdown Live: Becky Lynch, Bobby Roode, Carmella, Charlotte Flair, Jimmy Uso, Lana, Naomi, Natalya, Rusev, Sami Zayn and Shinsuke Nakamura.

WWE uploaded a preview for the show that you can view below.
