Kane says Rumble main event could be “last one”

The New York Post is featuring an interview with Kane where he talks about taking part in a triple threat main event at the Royal Rumble against Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman.

Kane, 50, noted this could be his last big main event match in his career.

“I have to take advantage of everyone that comes along. This might be the last one. I don’t know. I certainly think the match at Royal Rumble is going to be special for me.”

Kane also talked about the evolution of the current WWE main roster.

“If you look at our roster, it seems like 20 years ago we had a lot of big guys, not as big as him, but a lot of big guys. Nowadays not so much, I think our guys are better athletes now but they are not as big.”

Sasha Banks on her Royal Rumble picks

NBC Sports is featuring an interview with Sasha Banks where she talks about the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble match on January 28 announced last Monday night.

Banks gave her picks on who she would love to see involved in the match.

“I would love to hear Trish Stratus’ music. Of course Lita, Molly Holly, Jazz, Jacqueline, man even Victoria. It would be an honor to be in the ring with any of those girls. Beth Phoenix. Of course I want to win it, but at the same time, I would just want her to pick me up and throw me over the top. I would mark out, but I would land on my hands and go back into the ring like Kofi Kingston (laughs). Any of those girls would be incredible, but of course I would love to see girls from NXT get the opportunity, but of course they wouldn’t win it because I would be the last person standing.”

  1. I realize that logic dictates a 50 year old over the hill Kane has no business near the main event but I admit that I am a huge fan of the consistent and selfless performer Kane has been for the past 20 years so based on that alone, I am fine with him getting at least one more shot. He absolutely will not win the strap but its nice to see a HOF performer get a little reward.

  2. I think Kane deserves to be in the main event because he’s a good worker, is good on the microphone and is good for business. Might not be the best at any aspect in particular but nobody can discredit how hard he has worked in his career and deserves his spot.

Think about New Japan. Everyone has a place on the card and has their spot based on their own hard work, not because someone hand picked them

  3. Kane has always been loyal and thats why i’m glad WWE is looking after him. He has never been in trouble outside and caused bad publicity and JR notes his reliability. One of those guys who prove hard work and a good work ethic will reap rewards and acknowledgment

  4. It’s unfortunate that he’s never quite looked at in the same light as The Undertaker. Despite being there 20 years now and always being very reliable in what’s asked of him. Even Steve Austin has gone on to say that he should’ve called an audible and had Kane win the 2001 Royal Rumble thay’s how red hot he was at the time.

  5. if anyone deserves one last title run before retiring, it’s Kane. one of the best, most entertaining and selfless performers out there. and still hasn’t had his own DVD.
