WWE announces bracket for US Title tournament

On Thursday, WWE announced the following bracket for the US Title tournament to determine a new champion after Dolph Ziggler vacated the title.

* Baron Corbin vs. Bobby Roode
* Zack Ryder vs. Mojo Rawley
* Jinder Mahal vs. Tye Dillinger
* Xavier Woods vs. Aiden English

Roode defeated Corbin and Mahal defeated Dillinger to advance in the tournament on this past week’s episode of Smackdown Live.

The finals of the tournament will take place at the Royal Rumble in Philadelphia on January 28.

Videos following the 12/27 NXT

WWE posted the following videos from after the 12/27 episode of NXT.

  1. It’s almost a given that Roode will be US champ. Almost everyone else in those brackets have been previously buried.

  2. Why no Rusev? English would be an awesome win, but why not push Rusev more now that the entire crowd is behind him?

  3. More often than not it’s Kofi and E as the tag team and really, as a singles competitor, I would think Xavier is more bankable, wither on the main show or 205 Live. Plus, really, does the WWE really want any more reminders of Xavier’s tag team ways?

  4. Doesn’t matter which New Day member is in. I’m guess Woods beats English at the very least. The match with Mahal sets up a nice 3 on 3 feud between New Day and Mahal with the Singh brothers.
