“Then. Now. Forever. Together.” The WWE video leads us into the show.

We go live into the Delta Center to see a fired-up crowd.

“Wrestling has more than one royal family.”

“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes makes his way to the ring dressed to compete. He’ll be facing NXT North American Champion “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio.

Tonight’s main event will see “Main Event” Jey Uso battle Drew McIntyre. McIntyre still blames Uso for costing him the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship a year ago at WWE Clash at the Castle. Ricochet will also face Shinsuke Nakamura. NXT Women’s Champion Becky Lynch will defend her newly won title in an open challenge.

Rhodes stands in the ring and smiles as the crowd chants his name. Rhodes holds the microphone and says, “So, Salt Lake City, whattaya wanna talk about?” Last week, he was interrupted, so he would really like to talk about “Main Event” Jey Uso.

NXT North American Champion “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio’s music immediately hits to interrupt him. Mysterio walks out to the stage and starts to speak, but the crowd boos him down. Mysterio says once “Main Event” Jey Uso joins the Judgment Day, they’ll continue to be the most dominant faction in all of WWE. Mysterio shouts at the crowd. Mami isn’t here tonight because she was injured by Nia Jax last week, but she’ll be back soon and better than ever. After he beats Rhodes tonight, he’ll dedicate his victory to Rhea Ripley. Mysterio is in the ring.

Rhodes asks the crowd if they heard Mysterio, and they shout, “No!” Rhodes gives him another chance to speak, but Mysterio won’t talk. Rhodes reiterates that Mysterio is going to dedicate his victory to Mami. Maybe that’s the thing that will do it. Maybe it will impress Ripley enough that she’ll finally define their relationship. Rhodes says it seems like he’s far more into her than she’s into him. All this dedication to Mami… what’s the deal? It also seems like Mami has eyes for Jey Uso. Mysterio isn’t happy. Mysterio says it’s not like that at all. They’re all family. Once Jey Uso joins the Judgment Day, he’ll know what it’s like to have a family. A family always has each other’s backs.

The Judgment Day’s music hits. Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Finn Bálor and Damian Priest make their way to the ring.

-Commercial Break-

NXT Superstar Dragon Lee is at ringside. He’ll face “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio for the NXT North American Championship next week on Raw.

Non-Title Match
“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes vs. NXT North American Champion “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio w/ Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Finn Bálor and Damian Priest

The bell rings, and they circle the ring. Mysterio shoves him and talks trash. Rhodes kicks him in the midsection and uppercuts him. Rhodes pulls Mysterio up for a beautiful delayed front suplex. Rhodes then locks the NXT North American Champion in the legendary Figure Four Leglock. Mysterio quickly gets to the ropes to break the hold. Rhodes puts him in the corner and chops the chest. Rhodes has a whip to the opposite corner reversed and rolls up the turnbuckles before landing on the apron. Rhodes knocks Mysterio back. Mysterio grabs the referee to distract him. Finn Bálor pulls Rhodes off the apron. Bálor laughs and fist-bumps Damian Priest.

Mysterio gets Rhodes in the ring and stomps away at him in the corner before flexing his muscles. Mysterio starts up the Three Amigos. They mistime the second one. I think Rhodes thought he was supposed to counter out, but it was too early. Rhodes counters before the third one is hit, and he drops Mysterio with a Cody Cutter. Rhodes follows up with the Cross Rhodes and stares at Balor and Priest while covering Mysterio for the win.

Winner by Pinfall: “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes

Bálor, Priest, and Mysterio stand on the apron and stare at Rhodes, who is alone in the ring. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn run down to even up the odds. The Judgment Day gets off the apron and backs away. They leave through the crowd.

Rhodes leaves and starts to take selfies with fans. Kevin Owens gets on the microphone and tells the production crew to cut Rhodes’ music. Owens asks him to return to the ring because they have to talk. Rhodes wonders what it’s about.

-Commercial Break-

“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes is in the ring with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. Owens says Jey Uso is back on Raw because of Rhodes. Rhodes says that is correct. Owens says he doesn’t need to go into details about what Jey Uso did to a lot of people back in the locker room when he was part of the Bloodline. Rhodes is well aware. All he wants is for Rhodes to tell him why he thought it was a good idea to bring Jey Uso into their locker room on Monday Night Raw. A lot of people need to hear it. Owens wants Rhodes to enlighten them.

Rhodes says a lot of people need to hear it, but there are a lot of people in the crowd who probably know why. Rhodes has had a lot of roles, tasks, and duties. His job is to make the people happy. The crowd cheers. He’ll answer Owens’ question, but he first asks the crowd if they like Jey Uso. They cheer. Owens is looking at someone who has received a lot of second chances. Jey is one of the best in the world and deserves a second chance. They should give him the chance to show that he’s changed. Not to mention the Bloodline, who they are all very familiar with, are now down a member. What’s bad about that?

Sami Zayn says he doesn’t want to pile on, but Owens has always taken a bit more time to warm up to people. Zayn is the opposite. Maybe he trusts people too quickly. Still, he’s been through a lot with Jey Uso. Owens doesn’t have to give him a second chance, but Zayn thinks he should. Owens has given him second chances and vice versa. Because of that, they won the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles in the main event of WrestleMania. That doesn’t happen without a second chance.

Owens sees where this is going. If Zayn wants to pretend that Jey Uso is a huge reason why he didn’t win the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion at Elimination Chamber, he’ll do that. If Rhodes wants to pretend that Jey Uso wasn’t a big reason why he didn’t leave WrestleMania as champion, he’ll do that. Jey Uso cost him five title matches against Roman Reigns. Owens will even pretend that Jey Uso is not one shade of eyeliner removed from joining the Judgment Day. Owens can’t trust Jey Uso but trusts Rhodes and Zayn, so he hopes they’re right. Owens walks off on them.

Replays are shown of Jey Uso accidentally superkicking Kevin Owens last week on Raw, which cost them a match against the Judgment Day. Owens was furious with Uso.
