A video package runs featuring highlights from RAW last week. This included Finn Balor and Roman Reigns qualifying for the main event and Balor pinning Reigns. Balor will face Seth Rollins at WWE SummerSlam to crown the first ever WWE Universal Champion.

A highlight is also shown of Sasha Banks defeating Charlotte to become the new WWE Women’s Champion on the first episode of the new era of RAW.

The new RAW introduction hits. We go live to Atlanta where a big display of pyro goes off. Michael Cole is the first to welcome us to the show live tonight.

WWE Women’s Champion Sasha Banks is out first to kick off the show. A graphic hits plugging that Banks defends that title against Charlotte at SummerSlam on August 21. Banks gets inside the ring and holds the WWE Women’s Championship up. Banks grabs a mic and smiles as she gets a big reaction from the crowd in Atlanta. A loud “YOU DESERVE IT” chant breaks out. Banks thanks the fans. She said it’s about time RAW “popped off” with a big statement. She talks about the WWE Universe talking about Bayley and The Boss at NXT Brooklyn last year. Banks said they not only stole the show, they were the show. She said the reign of the boss has just begun and she will continue that era at SummerSlam.

Charlotte is out to interrupt. She walks out and gets inside the ring with a mic in hand. A loud “YOU TAPPED OUT” chant breaks out. Charlotte yells she saw a fly. Banks asks where all Charlotte’s gold is and reminds her that she made her tap out. Charlotte tells Banks to get over herself. “I don’t need Dana to beat you. I don’t even need my dad to beat you,” says Charlotte. She promises to beat Banks all by herself at SummerSlam. Charlotte said she was the very best in WWE for over 300 days. She says Banks capitalized on one mistake and refers to her as a “one night stand.” Banks says Charlotte is the daughter of Ric Flair and if it wasn’t for him she probably wouldn’t be standing here right now.

Chris Jericho walks out repeating, “Quiet…quiet….quiet.” Jericho gets in the ring and yells, “I said quiet!” He calls Banks a punk. Jericho said he was just minding his own business backstage and didn’t like how Banks was talking about Charlotte. He calls Charlotte a princess. Jericho said Charlotte has already outdone anything Flair has ever done in the business. “Who has Ric Flair ever beat,” adds Jericho. He’s confident Charlotte will beat Banks at SummerSlam. Jericho asks what makes Banks a boss. He wonders if she is his boss, write him up or pay his salary? Jericho calls Banks the boss of purple haired stupid idiots like the ones in the crowd tonight. He doesn’t care who her cousin is. “You aren’t a boss. You are a brat,” adds Jericho.

Enzo Amore is out next to interrupt. Enzo does his introduction solo and jumps inside the ring. Big reaction for Enzo in Atlanta. “Sash…for real…how doin?” Enzo kisses the hand of Banks who smiles and rubs her hand. He said normally he would come out here with his big friend, but three is a crowd. Enzo brings up how he is a G and she is a boss. He says he can bring the hot sauce and wants to make a “certified G deposit.” Enzo and Banks exchange “how you doin” back and forth. Charlotte tells Banks to go for it and hears you can only describe Enzo’s love life with one word. Banks points out what they have over here. Enzo refers to them as haters. He said listening to Jericho speak is like trying to pass a kidney stone. Enzo jokes that waiting to hear what Jericho has to say is like watching those three dots on an iPhone, but Jericho never hits sends. Jericho tells him to quiet down calling Enzo a “hip hop hobbit.” He tells Enzo to watch it. Enzo asks what. Jericho says it pointing. Enzo refers to Jericho as Bon Jovi and says “it’s…it’s my life.” He said this isn’t a DirecTV commercial and if he had the power to turn back time, he would prevent Jericho from buying that scarf. Jericho said he doesn’t care how anyone is doing.

RAW General Manager Mick Foley interrupts. He says he may not be “the boss”, but he is Jericho’s boss. He points out Enzo Amore in the ring. Foley said Enzo is a certified G and Foley is a certified GM. He plugs Enzo making an appearance on his “Holy Foley” show coming soon to the WWE Network. Foley talks about Banks setting the bar high last week. He said he can’t wait to see Charlotte and Banks back in the ring together. Foley books a mixed tag team match featuring Chris Jericho and Charlotte vs. Enzo Amore and WWE Women’s Champion Sasha Banks. That match is next.

Mixed Tag Team Match
WWE Women’s Champion Sasha Banks and Enzo Amore vs. Chris Jericho and Charlotte

We start with Chris Jericho and Enzo Amore. Enzo is working over the left arm of Jericho. Jericho with a headlock to slow things down. Enzo catches Jericho with a dropkick and a series of arm drags. Jericho runs to the corner and tags in Charlotte. Sasha Banks gets the tag and goes for an early roll up on Charlotte. Banks with a drop toe hold and another cover attempt early on Charlotte. More pinfall attempts by Banks. Charlotte with chops. Banks fires back with a chop of her own. Banks with an arm drag on Charlotte and double knees to the face of Charlotte for a two count. Jericho gets the tag and Enzo leaps in with a cross body catching Jericho. Banks and Enzo clothesline Jericho and Charlotte over the top rope. Banks and Enzo now with suicide dives on Jericho and Charlotte as we head to a break.

-Commercial Break-

We return live as Jericho is landing chops on Enzo. Jericho catches Enzo with a boot, but misses a bulldog attempt as Enzo crotches Jericho in the corner. Enzo with right hands. Enzo catches Jericho with a quick cross body for a two count. Enzo drops Jericho face first off his knee and gets another two count off a pinfall attempt. Enzo misses a dropkick attempt and Jericho gets the Walls of Jericho locked in. Enzo gets to the bottom rope to force a break. Enzo with a forearm to Jericho, goes up top and Jericho catches him with a dropkick. Hot tags to Charlotte and Banks. Banks with forearms to Charlotte in the corner and drops her knees over the chest of Charlotte. Banks with a backstabber on Charlotte. Dana Brooke distracts Banks. Charlotte with a roll up. Banks fights out and gets a slap in on Jericho. Charlotte with the Natural Selection on Banks and gets the pinfall.

Winners: Chris Jericho and Charlotte

After the match, Chris Jericho hits a Codebreaker on Enzo Amore. Big Cass is on his way down the ramp. Cass gets in and Jericho bails as Charlotte looks on. Jericho runs away with Charlotte and Dana Brooke back up the ramp. The referee tried handing the WWE Women’s Championship to Charlotte at one point. Banks yelled at him to give it to her. Whoops.

Finn Balor will appear later tonight.

Braun Strowman vs. Evan Anderhole

Braun’s opponent tonight said he is wrestling Braun tonight because he gets $1,000 and then gets $5,000 if he beats Braun. The bell rings and Braun launches Evan across the ring. Braun with a shoulder block and then launches Evan into the corner. Braun with a reverse chokeslam on Evan and Braun gets the easy pinfall.

Winner: Braun Strowman

Backstage, Stephanie McMahon is with Mick Foley. She compliments Foley on the mixed tag team match that he booked earlier tonight. Mark Henry walks in and Stephanie refers to him as the official WWE ambassador for the Summer Olympics. Henry said this competition with Smackdown Live has his creative juices going. He suggests it is time for a reopening of the Hall of Pain. Stephanie says they brought Henry back more in a mentor capacity. Henry says Stephanie is wrong. “I’m the strongest man that has ever lived.” He talks about being a two-time Olympian and a former World champion. Henry has one more run in him. Foley books Henry against Rusev for the WWE United States Championship tonight.

Backstage, The Golden Truth are playing Pokemon Go. Goldust things R-Truth might be addicted. They are up next in a tag team match.

The Golden Truth vs. The Shining Stars

We start with Goldust and Primo. R-Truth is still playing Pokemon Go on the ring apron. Goldust with a clothesline on Primo. Goldust with an uppercut to Primo. Goldust catches Epico with an inverted atomic drop. Primo drops Goldust and chokes him against the middle rope. Primo bounces off the back of Goldust and tags in Epico who leaps in over Goldust. Epico with right hands to Goldust. Goldust with a big boot to Epico and a snap powerslam. Truth yells on the ring apron, “I got one!” Goldust jumps for a tag and misses. Truth drops his phone. This allows Primo to get a roll through on Goldust for the win.

Winners: The Shining Stars

After the match, Goldust sits up and starts arguing with R-Truth. Corey Graves calls The Shining Stars a legitimate tag team and good for them.

Finn Balor is live next.

American Alpha debuts on Smackdown Live tomorrow night.

Dwight Howard and Tim Hardaway Jr. from the Atlanta Hawks are in attendance tonight.

Finn Balor Speaks

Michael Cole is in the ring and introduces Finn Balor. Balor gets a big reaction from the crowd in Atlanta. In the ring, Cole reminds everyone that Balor was a top draft pick for RAW and describes a wild couple of weeks for him since his RAW debut. Balor said he knew he had to make an impact when he came to Monday Night RAW. He said he knew coming here meant a lot of things when Seth Rollins interrupts to cut him off.

Seth Rollins tells Michael Cole to “take a hike.” Rollins introduces his opponent for SummerSlam, Finn Balor. He talks about Balor being a former NXT Champion. “He wasn’t the first NXT Champion…that was Seth Rollins, I did that, thank you very much.” Rollins said he was the No. 1 overall draft pick for RAW, not Balor. He said Balor is like a bad movie remake like Ghostbusters. Balor asks Rollins if he is done. Balor said he plans to beat Rollins at SummerSlam to become the first ever WWE Universal Champion.

Rollins said that is laughable and almost as funny as the Atlanta Braves winning the World Series. “It’s just not gonna happen,” says Rollins laughing. He credits Balor for helping the success of NXT. The Atlanta crowd starts a Braves chant. “Your team sucks,” says Rollins. Rollins said this is his show and around here he is the man. Balor said he has watched this show and finds Rollins’ laugh even more annoying in person. He said everyone he has been, “the man” tries to put him in his place and instead he takes that spot.

Rollins tells Balor he doesn’t know who he is messing with. He advises Balor check out the sweet special the WWE Network did about him. Rollins invites Balor to watch what he does to his buddy Sami Zayn tonight. Balor talks about earning his opportunity at SummerSlam and says Rollins had his handed to him. Rollins said he has earned everything in his career and he will show him who the man really is at SummerSlam. Balor said the only thing he will have handed to him at SummerSlam is his ass. Rollins attempts a cheap shot on Balor. Balor blocks it and gets in a pele kick to the face of Rollins. Rollins bails out.

The New Day vs. The Club is later tonight. The Club requested that one member of New Day stay in the back tonight for the tag team match.

Rusev defends the WWE United States Championship against Mark Henry next.

Seth Rollins vs. Sami Zayn is later tonight.

We return live. Lana wants us to welcome our true American hero and your WWE United States Champion. “And now my husband…which means he has the only man that can have me. The Bulgarian Brute, Rusev!” Lana is wearing her wedding dress.

JoJo does ring introductions. Rusev demands she introduce him first since he is the champion. JoJo obliges. JoJo introduces the challenger Mark Henry.

Mark Henry overpowers Rusev early launching him to the corner. Henry with a big scoop slam that plants Rusev. Rusev rolls out to regain composure. Rusev gets back in and gets in some kicks and right hands to the body of Henry. Henry levels Rusev with a clothesline. Henry levels Rusev and bails to the outside firing up the crowd in Atlanta.

-Commercial Break-

We are back live as Rusev now has the advantage on Henry. Rusev stomps over the back of Henry and is trying to lock on The Accolade. Henry fights out and flips Rusev over his shoulder. Henry with a series of clotheslines on Rusev. Henry misses a big boot and Rusev levels Henry with a spinning heel kick. Rusev with a superkick to the back of Henry’s neck. Henry is down. Rusev screams. Rusev stomps on the lower back of Henry. Rusev gets The Accolade locked in. Henry immediately taps out.

Winner and still WWE United States Champion: Rusev

After the match, Rusev gets on the mic and says this is the American hero that represented you in the Olympic games. He said the only reason Americans win at the Olympic games is because they are rigged. Rusev calls the Olympic committee a bunch of cowards. He said no American deserves a gold medal in Rio. Rusev said no man can take his WWE United States Championship away from him. He said he is a natural born winner.

Roman Reigns walks out on a stage and stares down Rusev. Reigns starts walking down the ramp. He continues to stare down Rusev as he gets in the ring and in his face. Rusev is not happy staring down Reigns. They exchange words. Rusev goes to walk away and Reigns gets back in his face. Reigns again cuts off Rusev from leaving the ring. Rusev teases that he is going to leave and then gets in a series of right hands on Reigns. Reigns explodes with a jumping clothesline dropping Rusev. Reigns goes for a Superman and Rusev bails. Reigns rolls outside, jumps off the steel steps and connects with a Superman on Rusev. Lana runs up the ramp and Rusev runs away with an upset look on his face.

A video package runs focusing on the RAW debut of Nia Jax. She is in action tonight.

Darren Young w/ Bob Backlund vs. Titus O’Neil

We see footage from the RAW pre-show where Titus asked when Darren was ever really that great. Young did not appreciate those comments from his former tag team partner.

Back live, Titus with a big shoulder block on Darren that drops him. Darren with chops. Titus powers Darren to the corner. Titus with a big chop to Darren in the corner. Darren with boots, attempts a cross body, Titus catches him, drops Darren with two backbreakers and tosses him away. Titus with a splash to Darren in the corner. Darren kicks out after two during a pinfall attempt by Titus. Titus with another chop to Darren. Titus cuts off a comeback by Darren with a high knee. Titus powers Darren up and drops him down hard over the mat. Another cover and Darren again kicks out after two. Titus drops Darren hard with a quick scoop slam. Darren attempts a sunset flip. Titus counters. Titus with a roll up on Darren after Darren took a shot in the corner. Titus holds the tights to get the pinfall.

Winner: Titus O’Neil

After the match, Bob Backlund argues with the referee about Titus holding the tights.

Backstage, Stephanie McMahon hands Mick Foley a RAW branded iPad. Sheamus walks up asking why they are giving out championship matches to Mark Henry and ignoring him. Cesaro walks up and said the millions of people in the Cesaro Section don’t want to see Sheamus. Stephanie brings up Cesaro saying he wanted to go to Smackdown Live instead of RAW during the draft. Foley brings up Cesaro’s shoulder being a big question mark and wants Cesaro to prove him wrong. He knows how tough Sheamus is, but thinks his head hasn’t been in the game since he cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase. Foley suggests a match between the two and the winner will earn a future championship match.

Nia Jax is in action next.

A promo for the Cruiserweight Division coming to RAW airs.

Backstage, Bob Backlund is yelling at Titus O’Neil. He calls Titus a cheater. Titus tells Backlund to calm down or he will “knock his old ass out.” Darren Young attacks Titus and tells him he can’t talk to his coach like that.

Nia Jax vs. Ariel Monroe

Lock up and Jax puts Monroe up on the top rope getting in a quick chop. Monroe with boots. Jax pulls him down and right into a clothesline. Jax with a headbutt to Monroe and avoids a cross body slamming her back down. Jax drops a quick elbow over Monroe. Monroe with a big right. Jax shrugs it off. Jax powers Monroe to her shouldrs and back down over the mat. Jax puts her boot over the chest of Monroe and the referee counts the pinfall.

Winner: Nia Jax

After the match, Byron Saxton gets word with Nia Jax asking what it is like to compete inside a WWE ring. Jax attacks Monroe and says ask her how she feels.

Backstage, Tom Phillips is with Sami Zayn. Zayn talks about his match with Seth Rollins. He said Rollins has a big mouth just like Kevin Owens. Zayn said he had the match of his life at Battleground and he did exactly what he said he would do: close the chapter with Owens. He said he has something to prove tonight against Rollins.

WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day are up next.

Backstage, we see a shot of Brock Lesnar’s backstage locker room door.

WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day are on the way out. Footage is shown from last week on RAW with The Club attacking New Day. Back live, Kofi Kingston calls them bald headed cowards. He brings up how one member of New Day will be banned from ringside after they filed a complaint. Big E asks who made this decision? Who? Who? Who? Xavier Woods said they engaged in a game of bag of fruit. Woods drew the banana, while Kingston and Big E drew oranges. Woods lowers the banana as Kofi and Big E hold up the oranges. He says that is too much. Woods says The Club cost him the chance to perform in front of his family including his parents in attendance tonight. They plug Booty O’s available for purchase. Kingston tells fans to buy it because they need the money.

Kofi Kingston and Big E vs. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson

We start with Big E and Karl Anderson. Big E with quick shots on Anderson including a big back elbow. Anderson with a high knee that catches Big E in the face. Anderson with stomps to Big E in the corner. Anderson with an uppercut. Big E responds with a belly-to-belly. Luke Gallows is in and Big E sends him over the top rope. Gallows pulls Kofi Kingston away and Anderson with a quick shot on Big E to prevent the tag. Big E with a roll up on Anderson. Big E gets the pinfall out of no where!

Winners: Kofi Kingston and Big E

After the match, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson attack Big E and Kofi Kingston. Gallows sends Kingston face first into the steel post. Gallows with a big boot on Xavier Woods who runs back out. Back inside the ring, Gallows puts Big E on his shoulders and Anderson connects with the Boot of Doom after hitting the ropes. Gallows has Big E back up and Anderson connects with a second Boot of Doom. Woods pulls Anderson out, gets in right hands and Gallows grabs Woods by the hair. Gallows with a running high knee to the face of Woods. Woods immediately falls back as Gallows and Anderson pose. Gallows and Anderson pull Big E towards the steel ring post and crotch him against it.

Backstage, we see WWE medical staff looking over Big E.

Cesaro vs. Sheamus

Lock up and both Cesaro and Sheamus brawl to the mat. Cesaro works over the left arm of Sheamus. Sheamus with an uppercut. Cesaro responds with an uppercut of his own. Both are now exchanging uppercuts. Sheamus with a high knee and axe handle. Big uppercuts from Cesaro backing Sheamus to the corner. Cesaro with jumping uppercuts to Sheamus in opposite corners. Sheamus bails out of the ring to regain his composure. Cesaro flips off the ring apron and catches Sheamus on the outside. Sheamus plants Cesaro over the apron and throws some big forearms. Sheamus locks up the arms of Sheamus on the top rope and throws forearms to the chest. Sheamus with a clothesline that drops Cesaro. Sheamus catches Cesaro with a quick shoulder block. Sheamus plants Cesaro with a suplex slam. Cesaro shows his power lifting Sheamus up and connecting with a suplex. Sheamus with a rolling senton on Cesaro. Cesaro with a headbutt to the nose of Sheamus. Cesaro with a springboard corkscrew uppercut that lands flush on Sheamus. Sheamus counters a Cesaro Swing with a boot to the face. Cesaro connects with a Neutralizer and gets the pinfall.

Winner: Cesaro

Cesaro has earned a future championship match with that win. Mick Foley did not specify what championship in WWE that would be earlier tonight.

We are back live and we see Sheamus and Cesaro fighting at ringside.

Jinder Mahal Is Back

In the ring, Heath Slater refers to himself as the hottest free agent and went ahead and did something. He introduces one of his best friends: Jinder Mahal. Slater said 2MB is going to set Monday Night RAW on fire. Mick Foley interrupts. He brings up how neither are actually on the RAW roster. Foley suggests a Battle of the Band where they have a match against each other right now. He sends a referee out to the ring. Foley said the RAW roster is stacked, but he has one spot open. The winner of this match will earn a RAW contract. Slater said he can’t break up the band.

Jinder Mahal asks for the bell to be rang immediately.

Slater still has his back turned yelling at Mick Foley. Slater turns around. Mahal levels Slater with a superkick and hooks the leg to get the pinfall.

Winner: Jinder Mahal

After the match, Jinder Mahal walks up the ramp and shakes hands with Mick Foley.

We see footage from earlier tonight of Big Cass making the save for Enzo Amore.

Backstage, Tom Phillips is with Chris Jericho. Jericho talks about Enzo Amore insulting his looks and his scarf. He calls Cass a big dumb moron. Jericho said Enzo has someone to watch his back and he has someone to watch his back. Tom asks who that is. Jericho says Jim…Jimen Marvin Luter. He said he’s the toughest guy west of Winnipeg. Kevin Owens walks up. Owens says that isn’t a real person. He said that’s okay because he has his back. Jericho smiles as Owens walks away. “That’s what I said man…Kevin Owens has my back,” adds Jericho. He refers to Tom as “Tim” and calls him a stupid idiot.

Seth Rollins vs. Sami Zayn is up next.

Seth Rollins vs. Sami Zayn

Lock up and Seth Rollins pushes Sami Zayn to the corner. Rollins breaks and then comes back in with stomps. Rollins with a chop to Zayn. Zayn with a heel kick that catches Rollins. Zayn with chops to Rollins. Rollins bails out to avoid any more offense from Zayn. Zayn rolls out, eats a kick from Rollins and then a right hand. Rollins tells the referee to shut up. Zayn with a springboard moonsault off the barricade after an irish whip from Rollins. Zayn tosses Rollins back in and Rollins is back out. Rollins cuts off Zayn with a high knee and then sends him right into the ring barricade. Rollins sends Zayn face first into the barricade. Back inside, Rollins drops a knee over Zayn and then pushes him back to the corner. Zayn drops Rollins jaw first off the top rope. Zayn goes up top, Rollins hits the top rope and Zayn crotches himself over the top rope. Rollins dumps Zayn over the top rope to the outside.

We return live as Rollins has Zayn down on the mat in a headlock. Rollins with a twisting takedown on Zayn. Zayn with a roll up for a two count. Rollins with his turnbuckle powerbomb. Zayn responds with a clothesline that levels Rollins. Zayn connects with the Michinoku Driver on Rollins for a close two count. Zayn with a Blue Thunder Bomb and Rollins again kicks out after two. Rollins with an elbow and kick to the back of the head on Zayn. Zayn avoids a Pedigree, slaps the chest of Rollins and connects with a springboard DDT. Rollins bails when Zayn attempts his corner big boot. Zayn hits the ropes and leaps over the top rope taking out Rollins. Zayn tosses Rollins back in, jumps off the top rope, Rollins catches him with a boot to the gut, attempts a Pedigree, Zayn counters, Zayn misses a boot attempt in the corner and Rollins connects with a Pedigree on Zayn for the win.

Winner: Seth Rollins

Backstage, we see the door to Brock Lesnar’s locker room open. Paul Heyman appears and is smiling. He says, “I will see you out there.” Brock Lesnar is next.

Brock Lesnar Returns

We return live as Paul Heyman is introduced.

Paul Heyman introduces himself. He said he knows you have been sitting on the edge of your seats the last three hours waiting for the biggest box office attraction in combat sports history. Heyman introduces the beast of the Brocktagon, the ruler and conqueror of the WWE Universe and the Viper slayer…Brock Lesnar.

Lesnar walks out to a big reaction from the crowd in Atlanta. A loud “SUPLEX CITY” chant starts up. Heyman talks about SummerSlam on August 21 where his client Brock Lesnar will “entertain you.” He said you heard him correct. Heyman said Brock Lesnar’s form of entertainment is not the kind of entertainment they like to market and sell in WWE. Heyman said Lesnar’s brand of entertainment is violent. He said he knows he shouldn’t use that word, but he stands next to Brock Lesnar and can’t get away with anything. Heyman said Lesnar doesn’t need to step up to the New Era. “The New Era needs to step up to Brock Lesnar,” said Heyman. He adds Lesnar doesn’t have to impress any Commissioners or General Managers. Heyman focuses attention on Randy Orton.

Heyman hears Orton is one RKO away from victory. He brings up Lesnar’s domination in WWE including ending The Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania. Heyman yells at the audience to get over it already. He brings up Orton’s theme song saying he hears voices in his head. Heyman wonders how many times those voices say Lesnar will kick his ass at SummerSlam and drag him straight to Suplex City. He gets on his knees to beg Orton. “Take it from the wise old Jew. Brock Lesnar is gonna beat your ass at SummerSlam.” Heyman said Orton doesn’t have a chance against Brock Lesnar. He said maybe Orton survives and doesn’t go to the hospital. Heyman said Orton’s only chance is the RKO. He said Orton isn’t man enough to hit an RKO on Lesnar.

Randy Orton hits the ring and connects with an RKO out of no where on Lesnar! Lesnar is down! Heyman cowers in the corner. Orton is smiling. Orton bails out of the ring and into the crowd. We see a shot of Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon walking out. You can hear Stephanie complaining that this is all Shane’s idea. Stephanie yells to have Orton escorted out of the building. Orton poses in the audience. The show goes off the air as we see Lesnar back on his feet staring down a smiling Orton.
