Randy Orton’s promo on Kevin Owens
Randy Orton’s music hits and out he comes to the ring. A “Randy” chant from the crowed and he points all around the arena. Orton begins by saying that a lot of crazy stuff have happened since he has been gone. He mentions Cena and the fans boo. He says Cena has always been on the top of this profession and now he’s just a bottom for Rock. That gives a whole new meaning to the term Rock Bottom and he laughs.
Orton welcomes everyone to the show and remains on Cena’s topic. He says he and Cena have a lot in common and there aren’t that many people with whom he has a lot in common with. But on that short list is Kevin Owens. He says he and Owens have both done vile things to get the job done, they have always pushed the envelope in the name of the business. He says Owens the wrestler, he respects. How he busted his ass to get to WWE, he admires that. But it’s Kevin Owens the man that he has a problem with.
Randy says there’s a quote out there which he will butcher and it’s “never underestimate a jealous man’s ability to destroy another man”. He says that is Kevin Owens. He is all jealous. Look at what he did to Cody Rhodes because Owens was jealous of the gold around Cody’s waist. Sami Zayn, they fought tooth and nail but they would always become friends again. But at the Elimination Chamber, he attempted to drop Zayn on his head on the concrete. And Owens will make you believe that Owens did that because Zayn helped Cody at the Rumble but that’s not the truth. It’s because Zayn has become a bigger star than Kevin Owens.
Orton says Owens was a friend at one time and Owens hit him with a piledriver because Orton tried to protect his friend. He says Owens won every title there is to win and if you ask anyone what their goal is in WWE, it is to main event WrestleMania. Owens did that twice and one of them was against “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Orton asks what does Owens have to be jealous about? He is never satisfied, enough is never enough.
Randy says a year and a half ago, he had a spinal injury and every doctor told him his career was done. But he busted his ass to come back and now Owens has pissed him off. When he came out at the Elimination Chamber to save Zayn, he hit Owens with an RKO and he felt something come over him. And normally, that’s enough. But something came over him which he hasn’t felt in a decade and a half and he liked it. He started to hear those voices in his head and those voices told him to kick Owens in the head as hard as he can.
He tells every one to listen to him and he says that he will prove that Pat McAfee is only the second greatest punter in WWE. Orton throws his microphone and his music hits as he poses on the top rope.

He looks at the crowd who are on their feet and and a “Cena sucks” chant from the crowd.
Cody asks the fans what they want to talk about. He says the obvious question with an obvious answer. It’s the most watched moment in WWE history in wrestling history. He asks what do you say to someone that isn’t even four years old when she asks you what happened to your face? He says that wasn’t a conversation he was expecting to have. He told her that he ran into a wall, not entirely untrue. He ran into one that was designed by the Final Boss, The Rock. His associate Travis Scott and by his WrestleMania 41 opponent, John Cena.
Rhodes says he drove John around for two years, he was trying to sponge off any bit of knowledge he could. He says Cena was a hero. One day he will tell his daughter what actually happened. That a great man who did great things, the definition of virtuous, someone who said “Never Gave Up”. He will tell his daughter that person gave up. Cody apologizes for any language he may have heard, he tells John that everyone would like to know why. And if he knows his old friend John Cena, it will be a very smooth, well edcuated, well crafted answer. A signature amount of phrases and when he is done talking, he will feel bullet proof and justified. But therei s no justification for John Cena.
Cody says that he is well aware that he is talking to the whole world right now but for those in the arena tonight, he doesn’t know if they know this story but Philadelphia was the one place his father was afraid to perform in. He never shared that same fear, for reasons unknown, the fans once cheered for him years ago. He never forgot it and last year, WrestleMania 40, trying to finish a story that started in the late 1970s, they cheered for him and chose him again.
Cody says speaking of WrestleMania 40, you can watch it back and hear the audio back. You’ll see Cena in the ring, pointing at the title and saying “It gets heavier every day”. Cody lifts the WWE title and looks at it. He says here he is, holding it and it is not heavy enough. Holding it for over 300 days. He knows that John is watching and Cena is convinced that he is the last of his kind but he is not. Cody is holding the title as if it weighs nothing and it’s clear John Cena wants some and to come and get some. Cody drops the microphone and looks at the WrestleMania sign as his song plays.
The Miz and Carmelo Hayes are backstage with Nick Aldis. Miz tells him that SmackDown needs a hard hitting interview and no one will miss Melo Don’t Miz TV.
