“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.

The show opens with a video recapping the events of Monday Night RAW. The Authority gloated about Seth Rollins winning the Money in the Bank briefcase before calling out the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion, John Cena. They announced that he would be on the cover of WWE 2K15. Cena then said they were being way too nice a night after they were disappointed that he won the title. They then announced that he would be in a Fatal Four Way at WWE Battleground. The main event of the night was John Cena and Roman Reigns versus Randy Orton and Kane. The match ended in chaos. Reigns and Orton fought to the back. Kane attacked Cena with the steel steps and gave him a Tombstone Piledriver. Triple H then called out Seth Rollins to cash in, but Dean Ambrose stopped that from happening. Reigns then came back to make the save as Kane went to attack Cena. The Authority had to back down.

The Smackdown video plays, and we’re brought into the arena. Michael Cole and JBL welcome us to the show.

Seth Rollins’ music hits, and Mr. Money in the Bank makes his way to the ring. Rollins says he was seconds away from cashing in his Money in the Bank contract on John Cena this past Monday. Rollins has a message for Cena: he got lucky on Monday night, but the clock is still ticking. Not even 24 hours into Cena’s 15th reign as champion, he was flat on his back unconscious in the ring. That doesn’t bode well for Cena because on a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero. That means sooner rather than later, he will cash in that contract and become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. The crowd boos him. Rollins tells the crowd to get used to his face because it will soon be the new face of the WWE.

Dean Ambrose’s music hits, and he comes out to the stage. Ambrose says Rollins is delusional and talking crazy. Rollins isn’t going to get his hands on those titles while he’s around. Ambrose warned him that no matter where he is or what he does, no matter what kind of plans he and his sugar daddy Triple H concoct, he’s going to be there. Ambrose then asks him how his championship coronation went on Monday. A replay shows Rollins attempting to cash in on Cena only for Ambrose to attack him before the bell rang. Ambrose tells Rollins to watch that footage over and over again because that’s his life for the rest of the year. Rollins thinks that briefcase is a blessing, but it’s a curse because it’s every excuse he needs to ruin his life, future, and that precious face of WWE.

Rollins says he doesn’t care how many times he shows that video. He knows Ambrose better than anybody, and he knows that he can’t keep that up for a year. Ambrose got lucky on Monday night. Ambrose can’t keep that up for a year, and he can’t stop him from cashing in this contract and becoming the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Ambrose says he can, and he’s going to start right now. Ambrose charges the ring, and he ducks a briefcase shot from Rollins. Ambrose takes him down and punches away at him. Randy Orton quickly runs down to the ring, and he attacks Ambrose. Rollins and Orton double-team Ambrose before Roman Reigns runs down to make the save. Orton and Rollins attack him as he enters the ring, but Reigns soon fights them off. Orton and Rollins escape up the ramp.

Triple H’s music hits, and he comes out to the stage. Triple H thinks Reigns and Ambrose have made their point, and he wants to make his since it’s the only one that matters. Ambrose wants a fight and he’s going to get one when he faces Randy Orton. As for Reigns, since he likes to stick his nose in everyone’s business, if he interferes then he is out of the Fatal Four Way Match at WWE Battleground for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Triple H sarcastically wishes them luck.

Chris Jericho returns to Smackdown later tonight for the first time in a year. Sheamus is seen walking backstage. He’ll defend his WWE United States Championship, next.

Chris Jericho addresses the attack by The Wyatt Family

Chris Jericho makes his way to the ring to a tremendous reception. Jericho says he’s back on Smackdown for the first time in a year. To be in this ring in front of the thousands of Jerichoholics and the millions at home, it feels good. To come back last Monday night as a complete surprise, it was one of the greatest moments of his career, and that felt good. Then along came a spider – a big, dark venomous spider and his family. He knows since he’s been gone, Bray Wyatt and The Wyatt Family have become one of the most dominant forces in WWE history. He knew when they surrounded him in the ring, it was not going to feel good. He was right because they beat him down three-on-one, and that was not good. He has one thing to say to The Wyatt Family: thank you. Jericho thanks them for reminding him that the WWE isn’t all about lighted jackets, music, surprise entrances, and “Y2J” chants because WWE is about survival as well. This ring is a dangerous place, but he can be a little dangerous. Jericho smiles as he says they’ve never worked with someone like him. He doesn’t look, think, or act like anybody else. For those reasons, that’s why he’s the best in the world at what he does.

The Wyatt’s can come to the ring and light a torch, rock in a chair, and sing a song. They can do whatever they want to do, but if they want to get a crazy, he can get a little crazy. If they want to get nuts, he can get nuts. If they want to get crazy, he’ll get crazy with them, but when he does, they will never, ever be the same again, and that’s a promise.

The Wyatt Family’s video flashes on the screen, and we see them backstage. Bray Wyatt says the world does not have a voice of its own. It can’t tell you what it wants and needs, but it’s yearning for something to point it in the right direction. A savior, perhaps. Wyatt tells Jericho to save them. Wyatt laughs before wondering where his manners have gone. He doesn’t think he’s had a chance to formally introduce himself. Jericho can call him Bray Wyatt, but he has a thousand faces and names. Seducer, accuser… destroyer. Wyatt says he is the color red in a world full of black and white. If Jericho values his ability to breathe, then don’t get too close. Wyatt says, “Save us, Chris. Save yourself.” Wyatt laughs before his video flashes away.

Jericho says he wants to get close with Wyatt. Instead of standing back where he is in the dark…

Jericho is interrupted by The Miz, and he comes out to massive amounts of boos that weren’t there on Tuesday night. The Miz points and waves at the crowd as if they’re cheering him. Miz asks Jericho how it feels to be interrupted. Last Monday night, Jericho deprived the audience and everyone around the world of something special. It was a moment everyone would remember forever: the return of The Miz. It’s a shame what happened to Jericho afterward with The Wyatt’s, but he could have helped him. It could have been two former WWE Champions fighting side by side taking down The Wyatt’s, but Jericho broke the golden rule: he tried to hurt the moneymaker (his face). Jericho got lucky because nothing did happen to the moneymaker. Miz goes to get in the ring. As he gets in the ring, Jericho hits him with a Codebreaker. Jericho puts Miz’ sunglasses on and looks into the crowd.

Jack Swagger’s music hits, and he makes his way out to the ring with Zeb Colter. Colter says he wants to educate these Karl Marx loving socialists about a few things. There are two types of people that he hates: illegal immigrants, which they probably are, and ungrateful illegal immigrants, which they probably qualify for as well. Lana, if that is her real name, can come out and talk about this country. He’s going to educate her on the history of the USA and Russia. Colter is going to give her a little test. She’ll have two seconds to answer. Who invented the internet? It wasn’t a Russian. Who invented the automobile? It wasn’t a Russian. Who put the first man on the moon? It wasn’t a Russian. The only thing that Russia invented that was worth a crap was vodka.

Lana yells for them to shut before calling them American swine. Swagger and Colter get in the ring, and a big “USA” chant breaks out. Colter tells her not to shut up before telling her to shut up. Colter says they had a chat on Monday night about First Amendment rights and free speech. He asks if she has dementia. Colter says he’s not here to chat with Lana. He’s come to get something straight along with Swagger. They can get it straight right here, right now, tonight. Colter says, “Yea or nay.” Colter says they’ll be inspired by Real American sounds come crashing down on their head. Colter asks every Real American to rise, put their hand over their hearts, and in a loud, clear voice say, “We the people!” The entire arena does so.
