“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.

Stephanie McMahon makes her way to the ring looking none too pleased. She says she stands before the crowd as one of the principal owners of WWE. As far as society has come, women in power are still seen as cold hearted, vindictive, and ruthless. That’s not who she is. Take away the money and the education, and she is just like everyone in the crowd. She’s a human being – a wife and a mother. Consider how she felt last night as she watched her defenseless husband be brutally and savagely attacked by Roman Reigns. The crowd gives that a huge reception. She had to explain to her daughters why Reigns attacked their father and why he was spitting up blood in the hospital. It seems like everyone wants her to be cold hearted, vindictive, and ruthless, so that’s what they’ll get. Reigns not only attacked her husband, he attacked the COO of WWE and his boss. Therefore, he leaves her no other choice…

Roman Reigns’ music hits, and he makes his way to the ring to a great reception from the crowd. The commentators talk about how this could be the last time he makes this trip through the crowd due to his attack on Triple H. Stephanie is scowling at him. A “Thank you Roman” chant breaks out. Reigns just stares at her, and she stares right back completely not intimidated. Reigns says he’s a father too. Today is his daughter’s birthday. Reigns says he loves his daughter. Reigns says he doesn’t feel bad at all about whipping her husband’s ass. Stephanie says he has a lot of nerve coming out here and wishing his daughter a happy birthday. Reigns isn’t taking this seriously. How would it feel for his wife to look in his daughter’s eyes to explain the beating he took? Stephanie says he better have something sharp to say because she’s ready. Reigns says he’s tight on time, so if she’s going to fire him, then fire him please. Stephanie says he’s nothing more than a coward. The people are thanking Roman… for once again losing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and blaming everyone but himself. Reigns took it out on her husband who had nothing to do with his loss. Reigns is a failure and a disgrace. Reigns starts laughing and says Stephanie is a disgrace. Her husband is a disgrace. Her whole family is a disgrace. Stephanie looks furious and slowly approaches him. Stephanie then smacks him in the face. Reigns turns and smiles, and she smacks him again. Reigns turns and smirks again, so she unloads a bunch of vicious slaps on him. Stephanie goes to leave before turning and smacking the taste out of his mouth again. Reigns’ face is lit up. Stephanie says she’s not going to fire him because her husband asked her not to, but someone is on the way to the arena that just might fire him. That man is the Chairman of the WWE, Vincent Kennedy McMahon!

Replays are shown of Kevin Owens viciously attacking Dean Ambrose moments ago.

Kevin Owens is walking backstage when JoJo catches up with him. She says she knows he’s upset… but he cuts her off and says no one knows how he feels. She asks if he feels justified in attacking Dean Ambrose like that. Owens says he doesn’t have to justify himself to her or anybody. All they have to worry about is what they just saw is only the beginning. If they think Dean Ambrose is a lunatic, he won’t stop until he drives him absolutely insane, put him in an institution, and take back his Intercontinental Title. Owens walks off.

The Dudley Boyz are backstage with Tommy Dreamer and Rhyno. Bubba Ray Dudley says last night didn’t go exactly how they thought. It’s happened before and it might happen again tonight. If there’s one thing they learned from this city, no matter how many times you get hit or knocked down, you always get back up and keep fighting. Tommy Dreamer says they’re back home. It all started in Philly. D-Von says they’ve spilled a lot of blood, sweat, and tears in this city to last them a lifetime. Rhyno says a little more won’t hurt. Bubba says it’s going down like this: Bray Wyatt better bring his family because they’re bringing theirs. They’ll settle this in the same city they started in. D-Von says they’re taking this city back to the extreme. D-Von screams, “Oh my brother – TESTIFY!” They interspersed some old ECW clips throughout this vignette.

McMahon leaves the ring and kicks a steel chair out of a stagehand’s hands and takes a seat in a comfy seat. McMahon says Roman Reigns will sweat a little more as we go to commercial.

Sheamus’ music hits, and the WWE World Heavyweight Champion makes his way to the stage saying, “No!” Sheamus asks Vince McMahon to excuse the interruption. It’s not that he doesn’t think McMahon can take him; it’s just that he wants the pleasure of beating an apology out of Reigns himself. Sheamus says there is no man on this planet that should ever disrespect Vince McMahon or his family. Sheamus says on behalf of McMahon’s Irish coat of arms (a “You look stupid” chant breaks out, which Sheamus responds to by saying they all paid to see him), he wants to challenge Reigns tonight. Sheamus says Reigns can wipe the smirk off his face. He’s beaten him before. At Survivor Series, it only took him 5:15. Sheamus also beat him last night. Reigns isn’t 100% after that beating. Sheamus says he can beat Reigns anytime and anyplace. Sheamus says he’s so confident he can beat him that he’ll put the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line.

McMahon says they always fall for that every time because there’s no chance in hell. Reigns grabs the microphone out of his hand as the crowd chants, “Asshole.” Reigns asks why not. McMahon used to talk about his grapefruits, but it seems like all he has is old, shriveled up prunes. McMahon is 70 years old, so maybe time has passed him by. Reigns shoves the microphone into his chest. McMahon looks livid. McMahon says, “You son of a bitch! You’ve got your match… on one condition. If you don’t become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion tonight, YOU’RE FIRED!” McMahon turns to leave before turning around and kicking Reigns in the crotch. Reigns drops to a knee in pain. Sheamus laughs as McMahon leaves the ring. Reigns slowly gets to his feet and looks furious. McMahon then struts off and puts his arm around Sheamus.
