“Then. Now. Forever.” The WWE video leads us into the show.

The Smackdown video plays, and we’re brought into the arena to see a big pyrotechnics display. We are 31 days away from WrestleMania 31. Michael Cole, Byron Saxton, and Jerry “The King” Lawler welcome us to the show. We’ll see a WWE Fastlane rematch as Dolph Ziggler, Erick Rowan, and Ryback will take on Seth Rollins, Kane, and Big Show in the main event.

Daniel Bryan talks about his next move

Daniel Bryan makes his way to the ring to a good reception. Still photos are shown of him losing to Roman Reigns at WWE Fastlane. Bryan stands in the ring as the crowd chants, “YES!” Bryan then screams, “NO! NO! NO!” Bryan says he doesn’t know if everyone remembers, that’s what he said instead of “yes” because he was frustrated and not getting any opportunities. He felt like there wasn’t anybody in his corner. Bryan says he was wrong because the people were in his corner and gave him opportunities. They gave him so many opportunities that last year at the Superdome in the main event of WrestleMania XXX, he finally won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship after scratching and clawing for fourteen years. The crowd starts another “YES” chant. Then, due to injury, he lost the championship. The crowd boos this. At WWE Fastlane this past Sunday, he got what most people never get: a second chance. He had the opportunity to get everything back, and he failed. That means he won’t be in the main event of WrestleMania, and he won’t get the WWE World Heavyweight Championship opportunity.

A lot of people have been asking him if the YES! Movement is dead. The crowd chants, “NO,” and Bryan shouts that over and over again. Bryan says he will not give up or back down. Despite not being in the main event of WrestleMania, he’s got big plans. This year at WrestleMania 31, he plans on…

Bad News Barrett’s music interrupts him. Barrett makes his way to the ring without the WWE Intercontinental Championship because Dean Ambrose stole it from him. Barrett asks how much longer Bryan is going to carry on with this nonsense. No one wants to hear about Bryan’s sob story. Barrett says it just so happens that he has some Bad News for him. Bryan won’t be getting a WrestleMania moment this year. Losers like Bryan don’t deserve the spotlight. Another person who doesn’t deserve the spotlight is the lunatic thief, Dean Ambrose. Ambrose has stolen his Intercontinental Championship. Barrett says he’s still the Intercontinental Champion. Barrett warns Bryan to get out of the ring.

Dean Ambrose’s music hits, and he makes his way to the ring to a great reception from the crowd. Ambrose is carrying the stolen Intercontinental Championship in his hand. Ambrose quickly punches away at Barrett and knocks him out of the ring before sending him into the barricade. Barrett then pulls Ambrose face first into the barricade. Bryan looks at the Intercontinental Championship and picks it up. Bryan looks at it as Barrett gets back in the ring. The crowd lightly chants “NO” at giving the title back to Barrett. Bryan stalls for a bit before giving it back to Barrett. Barrett then turns into a right hand from Ambrose. Bryan then takes Barrett down with a big kick to the head. Ambrose picks up the Intercontinental Championship and stands tall in the ring with Bryan, who is doing a “YES” chant.

We’ll hear from Roman Reigns in an interview with Byron Saxton later tonight.

-Commercial Break-

Ambrose quickly comes back with a schoolboy for a two count. Ambrose body slams him before dropping an elbow for a one count. Ambrose stomps him in the corner before slapping him in the face. Ambrose connects with a running forearm in the corner before hitting a bulldog. Ambrose goes to the top rope, but he notices Bad News Barrett return to ringside and take the Intercontinental Championship back. Ambrose quickly chases him down and clotheslines him at ringside before taking the title back.

Miz kicks Ambrose as he comes back in the ring and goes for the Skull Crushing Finale. Ambrose fights him off before getting elbowed into the ropes. Ambrose rebounds off the ropes and hits a big clothesline. Barrett quickly grabs the Intercontinental Championship and runs off with it. Ambrose hits Miz with Dirty Deeds and picks up the victory. Ambrose is not happy about Barrett taking the title back.

Winner by Pinfall: Dean Ambrose
Match Rating: *

Still photos are shown of Randy Orton’s return at WWE Fastlane. Orton attacked members of The Authority, but he couldn’t get his hands on Seth Rollins. Then on this past Monday’s RAW, Orton was forced to team up with Rollins in the main event. Rollins took the pin in the main event. Orton looked frustrated, but he didn’t attack him.

Dolph Ziggler, Erick Rowan, and Ryback will face Seth Rollins, Kane, and Big Show in a WWE Fastlane rematch in the main event.

-Commercial Break-

Bad News Barrett is walking backstage with his WWE Intercontinental Championship when Renee Young stops him for an interview. Barrett cuts her off and says he reclaimed what is rightfully his from the grubby mitts of that lunatic Dean Ambrose. Ambrose can’t hold a candle to him in the ring and neither can that disgusting goat, Daniel Bryan. Now that he has the title back, he is never letting it out of his sight.

Naomi w/ The Usos vs. Natalya w/ Tyson Kidd and Cesaro

Replays are shown of Naomi pushing Tyson Kidd’s feet off the ropes as he tried to pick up a cheap win on Jimmy Uso. Natalya then shoved her down at ringside. Natalya caused the match to end in disqualification. Naomi then pulled Natalya off the apron and injured her knee.

Natalya is still shaking her leg like the knee is still bothering her. The bell rings, and Natalya kisses Tyson Kidd. They circle the ring, and Natalya takes her down with a headlock takeover. Naomi fights up and elbows out. Naomi whips her off, but Natalya takes her down with a shoulder block. Naomi glares at her before Natalya hits the ropes. They take turns going over one another before Naomi rolls her up for a two count. They lock up, and Natalya shoves her down. Naomi kips up and hits an arm drag. Natalya quickly takes her down and grabs the leg, but Naomi counters with a head-scissor takedown. Naomi keeps the head-scissor applied and looks for a submission, but Naomi powers up and spins her around. Naomi rolls her up, but Natalya quickly gets out. They hit the ropes and take each other out with dual cross-body blocks.

They slowly get to their feet, and Naomi viciously kicks her in the knee. Kidd quickly goes to check on his wife as the referee holds Naomi back. Jimmy Uso gets on the apron and superkicks Kidd to the floor. Cesaro pulls Jimmy off the apron. Jimmy reverses a whip on Cesaro and sends him into a superkick from Jey Uso. The referee keeps Naomi back as Natalya was selling the knee injury. Natalya then takes Naomi down with a vicious clothesline for the win. The announcers speculate that Natalya was playing possum.

Winner by Pinfall: Natalya

We’ll find out what’s next for John Cena after his defeat at the hands of Rusev at WWE Fastlane later tonight. We’ll hear from Rusev and Lana, next.

-Commercial Break-

Rusev and Lana address John Cena’s challenge for a rematch

WWE United States Champion Rusev and Lana are in the ring when we return from the break. Rusev holds the title up and says it’s the symbol of a true champion. Lana asks if the crowd knows what an American champion is. A champion is someone who stands tall, stands full of pride, and stands above everybody else. He stands above Americans who are far beneath him. Lana asks if they know what a champion doesn’t do. Rusev says he doesn’t have to agree to anybody’s terms. Lana says especially when this happens at WWE Fastlane: still photos are shown of John Cena being beaten by Rusev. Rusev says when it gets tough, Americans just give up. Lana says we can imagine their surprise when the great hero John Cena begged them for a rematch. Lana says Rusev is a champion who answers to no one and ignores the inferior, especially someone who falls asleep on the job.

Lana says they’re going to talk about something that is way more important than John Cena. Rusev has received e-mails from the greatest president on earth, Vladimir Putin. Putin’s image is shown on the screen before the e-mail is shown. Lana reads, “I am so proud and grateful for not only your victory but also for your fortitude and for your strength for not bowing down to American tyranny when John Cena crassly demanded a rematch on Monday Night RAW. I am so proud of the greatest United States Champion, the true Hero of the Russian Federation, Rusev.”

Rusev says he will have a great match at WrestleMania against an opponent that is worth his time. He will defeat this opponent like he does everyone else. This opponent will never be John Cena because he has been beaten, broken, and crushed.

Jack Swagger’s music hits, and he makes his way to the stage. Swagger asks if Rusev is scared to give John Cena a rematch. Swagger says if Rusev is scared to fight, then he’s come to the wrong city. Swagger tells Atlanta to stand up. Swagger says Rusev is surrounded by real America and real Americans. Swagger gets in the ring as the crowd chants “USA.” Rusev talks trash to Swagger. Swagger then does the “We the people” taunt. Rusev tries to attack, but Swagger takes him down and punches him. Swagger then gets him in the corner and knees away at him before knocking him to the ring apron. Swagger then clotheslines him off the apron and does the “We the people” taunt again.

Swagger goes outside to get more of Rusev. Swagger punches him and throws him into the ring, but Rusev quickly rolls out. Rusev punches him as he tries to leave the ring before kicking him in the head. Rusev kicks him in the back of the knee a few times before kicking him in the head. Rusev then drags him to the center of the ring and stomps the spine before applying the Accolade. Swagger taps out in pain. The flag of the Russian Federation unfurls above the ring as Rusev reapplies the Accolade. Referees run down to get Rusev off him. Rusev lets him go, but he then goes back to the Accolade for a third time. Lana hands him the United States Championship and puts his medal around his neck.

Barrett then looks at R-Truth, who denies seeing the title. R-Truth lifts up his shirt, but the title isn’t there. Barrett then looks completely dejected and sits on the commentary table without his title.

The commentators talk about the WWE Network’s birthday.

A pre-taped sit down interview is shown with Bryon Saxton and Roman Reigns. Saxton congratulates him on his victory over Daniel Bryan at WWE Fastlane. Saxton talks about that being the toughest match of his career. Reigns says that’s the type of competitor Bryan is. Bryan knows what it takes to get to where he’s going. Reigns says he’s going to beat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. Saxton then throws it to Paul Heyman’s statement on RAW. Heyman says Reigns could beat Bruno Sammartino, Hulk Hogan, and André The Giant. Reigns isn’t fighting a man at WrestleMania, though. He’s fighting a beast. Reigns can’t slay his beast.

Reigns says Heyman talks nonstop before saying it irritates him that Heyman says he can’t slay the beast. Reigns doesn’t like being told he can’t do something. He can and will beat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania. Saxton asks how he’s preparing to face Lesnar. Reigns says he hasn’t taken a cruise in quite some time, so maybe he’ll get back on the boat. Reigns says he has to train harder than he ever has before. He has to be watch old tapes and be stronger and faster. Athleticism won’t beat Brock Lesnar. This is a man who has been in the main event before. Reigns hasn’t. Reigns likes doing things on his own, but he’s not a fool or too proud. He needs to tap into his resources, talk to his family, and let them prepare him.

Reigns says he can be pretty cocky and egotistical, but this opportunity is once in a lifetime. The bubble can be popped at any moment. He had to fight to keep this opportunity. He hopes Lesnar is cocky and arrogant at WrestleMania. Lesnar will see a man fighting and representing a proud family. Reigns says that’s a scary combo. Reigns says, “I’m going to beat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, and I don’t care if you believe it. I know it, and I’m going to prove it.”

Smackdown is on fire!”

Fandango w/ Rosa Mendes vs. Curtis Axel

Before the match begins, Curtis Axel asks everyone to not turn the channel. Everyone knows he was attacked from behind at the Royal Rumble and never got in the match. Axel says he’s set the record for longest time for the Royal Rumble ever. He’s been in the match for 32 days, 7 minutes, and 25 seconds. Axel incorrectly said 32 hours, which the commentators immediately jumped on. Axel says no one eliminated him from the Royal Rumble, and they won’t eliminate him from the André The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania. Axel then yells “Axelmania” into the microphone a few times.

They circle the ring, and Fandango catches him with a waistlock. Axel elbows him in the face and stomps away at him. Axel then throws him over the top rope and yells “Axelmania” over and over again. Sometimes I wonder if you can hear me at all, or maybe you’re just too busy clinging to whatever life it is you have left that you can’t even heed my call. But I need you to know this: I’m not just a man; I’m the serpent. Even the bravest rat can only outrun the snake’s fangs for so long before fate calls them by name. Your ignorance mocks me, Undertaker. How long is it that you think you can hide from me? Well Hell is my playground, and I would go to the deepest, darkest depths just to see your face. Time’s ticking. WrestleMania approaches. So come on, Deadman, show yourself. Find me. Find me.”
