Fightful Select has provided a new update on the WWE shows set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in light of the ongoing conflict in nearby Iran.
As of 2:30 PM Eastern on 6/23, WWE talent slated to go to the country for Night of Champions and SmackDown had not been updated on any changes, despite reports of “US jets scrambling over Saudi Arabia” following an attack on an airbase in Qatar.
Talent that were spoken to said they expect the company is figuring things out, like everyone else is right now.
Fightful also notes that talent booked in Saudi Arabia are no longer bonused for those shows, as the payment for them is “baked into their contracts now,” meaning there is no additional financial incentive for the talent on that trip per sources.
