“Then. Now. Forever. Together.” The WWE video leads us into the show.

We see an overhead shot of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Video: Footage is shown from WWE Clash in Paris of Becky Lynch interfering in the World Heavyweight Championship match to help Seth Rollins beat CM Punk. This past Friday on SmackDown, Becky Lynch got in CM Punk’s face, leading to the epic return of AJ Lee, who attacked Lynch and embraced her husband.

Pre-Show Arrivals

World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch are shown arriving. Lynch is furious and pushes the camera aside. Rollins looks a little irritated.

We go live in the Fiserv Forum.

“Main Event” Jey Uso addresses reuniting with his brother

“Main Event” Jey Uso makes his entrance to a huge reception. He climbs down a flight of stairs, and his brother Jimmy Uso is standing there waiting for him. The Usos are reunited and lead the crowd in a YEET dance.

Joe Tessitore and Corey Graves welcome us to the show. Tessitore says the commentary teams have been shaken up with football season on the horizon. Tessitore mentions that Wade Barrett is on a well-deserved vacation. Graves sarcastically says the internet told him that Barrett was exiled, referencing a false report from PWInsider that Barrett was taken off the road.

Replay: Last week on Raw, Bron Breakker and “Big” Bronson Reed defeated Jey Uso and LA Knight. Jimmy Uso made the save as Breakker and Reed double-teamed his brother.

The Usos stand in the ring as the crowd chants, “One more time.” The Usos oblige them and lead another YEET dance. It’s an incredible visual. Jey greets the crowd and says The Usos are now in their city. Jey says The Vision with Seth Rollins and “The Bronnies” have messed up.

“Big” Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker quickly interrupt them and come out to the stage. Breakker asks Jimmy Uso if he’s lost. The Vision runs Monday Night Raw. The Dogs run Monday Night Raw. They have some nerve coming out to the ring after what they did to Paul Heyman. Breakker flips out, but Reed holds him back from going down to the ring. Reed says all he wants from Roman Reigns’ family tonight is to acknowledge their Tribal Thief. An “OTC” chant fires up. Reed tells Jimmy to listen to him. He was not a factor in Seth Rollins’ Vision on SmackDown. Now, he’s here on Raw. The crowd sings Roman Reigns’ name, so Breakker tells them to shut up. Reed says Reigns isn’t coming back because they’ve already dealt with him. Now, they’ll deal with Jimmy, who should look at his cousin, who is still in the hospital.

Jimmy tells them to keep quiet about the OTC. Jimmy says he knows where he’s at. He’s on “Mon-Jey Night Raw.” Jimmy is happy to be here in front of the Vision. He remembers Rollins’ J&J Security. Are the PB&J Security? They are the ones. Jimmy says he doesn’t like that they have the same name or that they take orders from Paul Heyman. Reed holds Breakker back. They refer to Heyman as an “Orca” instead of an “Oracle.” Jey says Heyman is built like one. Reigns also referred to Heyman as a “dumbass.”

Since Breakker and Reed want to make a name for themselves, they talked to Adam Pearce. Jimmy says at Wrestlepalooza, Reed and Breakker will be going against The Usos. Jey says it’s time to “get jiggy” right now. Four letters, one word: ugh-ugh… YEET! Reed says they can wait until Wrestlepalooza.

LA Knight runs out and attacks Breakker and Reed from behind. Breakker quickly takes Knight down, driving him into the LED ring apron. The Usos hit Reed and Breakker with stereo suicide dives. Jey and Knight get Reed in the ring and go back and forth punching him. They then cut Breakker off and superkick him out of the ring. Knight goes for a Blunt Force Trauma on Reed, but Reed pushes him off, nearly sending Knight into Jey. Knight tells Jey to chill. Knight then moves, and Reed avalanches Jey. Jimmy superkicks Reed out of the ring. Jey and Knight argue a bit in the ring following the miscommunication.

Mike’s Thoughts: A pretty paint-by-numbers opening segment for Raw. As we’ve seen for months, someone comes out with a grievance against The Vision, and then they get booked in either a tag match against Reed and Breakker or a singles match against one of them. I do like that they’re sowing seeds of tension between LA Knight and Jey Uso. It’s a risk to pit two super over faces against each other, but I like it.

Raw on Netflix will start next week at 7 p.m. Eastern.

Replay: Last Monday on Raw, El Grande Americano interfered in the WWE Intercontinental Championship match, helping “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio retain over AJ Styles.

AJ Styles makes his entrance. He’ll face El Grande Americano next.

-Commercial Break-

On November 10, John Cena will appear in Boston for the final time on Raw. His final appearance in New York City will be on November 17.

Backstage Interview

LA Knight and Raw General Manager Adam Pearce are arguing. Pearce walks off. Byron Saxton asks Knight what’s going on. Knight says he doesn’t care about the Uso family reunion. Knight wants what’s his. Knight is furious that Jey Uso thinks he sent Bronson Reed into him. If Jey wants a problem, he’s not a hard man to find. Knight was telling Pearce he wants any of the “Bron’s.” He doesn’t care if he wins. He just wants to take a piece of them.

AJ Styles vs. El Grande Americano

Referee: Rod Zapata

As El Grande Americano is making his entrance, AJ Styles hits him with a baseball slide. Styles attacks him at ringside and drives him into the barricade. The referee calls for the bell to start the match. Styles hits Americano with a forearm plancha. Styles chops away at Americano’s chest and puts him back into the ring. Styles forearms Americano back. Americano grabs the referee, feigning an injury, and a second El Grande Americano grabs Styles’ ankles. Americano I chops the chest and comes off the top rope with a springboard blockbuster for a near fall. Americano I goes for a powerbomb, but Styles fights out and hits a spin kick. Styles sets up for a Styles Clash, but Americano II gets on the apron. Dragon Lee runs down and attacks Americano II before hitting a diving hurricanrana off the apron!

In the ring, Americano I rolls Styles up, but Styles furiously rolls through and powers him up for a Styles Clash! Wow! 1… 2… 3!

Winner by Pinfall: AJ Styles

Mike’s Thoughts: A really good match with AJ Styles and El Grande Americano I/Ludwig Kaiser. That ending sequence in particular was SOLID. I loved it. Styles still has so much to offer. These rumblings that he’s unhappy with his booking, if true, are valid. He’s better than what they’re giving him. I’m almost wondering if this is an Eric Bischoff/Bret Hart situation. Vince McMahon famously said that WCW “wouldn’t know what to do with a Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart,” and he was right. For as chaotic and awful as McMahon’s last ten years of booking were, he did indeed know what to do with an AJ Styles. Perhaps Paul Levesque doesn’t know what to do with an AJ Styles.

Backstage Segment

Raw General Manager Adam Pearce tells IYO SKY that Stephanie Vaquer couldn’t make it to Raw, so he has to cancel the contract signing. Nikki Bella walks up and asks about Vaquer. Bella says she doesn’t have to like her, but she will respect her. Asuka laughs and suggests she beat the respect out of her. Bella agrees. Sky looks worried. Kairi Sane starts to apologize to Sky, but Asuka calls after her.

IYO SKY will battle Stephanie Vaquer for the vacant Women’s World Championship at Wrestlepalooza.

Rodriguez pulls her to the corner and pulls on her hair and legs to twist her around the ring post. Rodriguez hits a slingshot twisting corkscrew elbow. Rodriguez hits a second one for a near fall.

The crowd chants, “This is awesome.” Valkyria powers Rodriguez up, but her back gives out. Perez gets on the apron and distracts Valkyria. Rodriguez attacks her from behind. Valkyria ducks a clothesline from Rodriguez and hits Perez with a Wrecking Ball Dropkick. Rodriguez attacks her and goes for a powerbomb, but Valkyria kicks out. Valkyria hits a bridging pin for a near fall. Valkyria hits Rodriguez with a running enzuigiri before going to the top rope. Rodriguez gets up and hits a massive Tejana Bomb. 1… 2… 3.

Backstage Segment

AJ Styles tells Dragon Lee that he appreciates him having his back. Jimmy Uso walks up and greets them before walking off. Jimmy finds his brother Jey Uso getting ready to leave. Jimmy asks where he’s going. Jey says he’s leaving. Jimmy says they need to help LA Knight. Jey says he’s done with Knight. Knight tried to get him. What about him? What about them? Helping LA Knight won’t get them to Wrestlepalooza or get him the World Heavyweight Championship. Jey says they need to acknowledge them or they’ll smash all of them. Jimmy says Jey isn’t sounding like himself. He’s sounding like Roman Reigns. Jey says sounding like himself might not be worth it. Jey picks up his bag and leaves the arena.

AJ Lee returns to Raw for the first time in ten years

AJ Lee comes out to a massive reaction… and she’s wearing Becky Lynch’s Women’s Intercontinental Championship. The crowd chants, “Welcome back.” Lee thanks them. Lee says for those who weren’t here ten years ago, and why their millennial parents were excited on Friday, she wants to introduce herself. Her name is AJ Lee, and she is your favorite wrestler’s favorite wrestler.

An “AJ Lee” chant fires up. Ten years ago, she retired. She felt like she had accomplished all of her dreams in wrestling. She was content and hung up her Chuck Taylors. She thought it was the end of her story. She’d never enter the ring wearing jean shorts that were two sizes too small. So, she went on a journey to accomplish all these crazy dreams she had in life. She did it. Most importantly, she went on a mental health journey. She wasn’t healthy. She took care of herself and got it right. Lee went to therapy and got treatment. A “therapy” chant picks up! Lee says she found a way to turn the mental chaos into a superpower. The fight isn’t easy. If you’re going through the same thing, the fight is worth it. YOU are worth it.

Lee says she was doing really good for a long time. Then she watched Monday Night Raw. Healing isn’t linear. It’s one thing to see your husband fighting Drew McIntyre, John Cena, or Seth Rollins. It’s another thing entirely to see him in the ring with Becky Lynch. She wanted to like Becky. Lynch is a leader and a rebel, as well as a New York Times Bestselling Author, like she is. Lee says she did it first. There is a world in which they could have been friends. Then she went and motor boated her husband. She put her hands on him, berated him, and defamed him.

“The Man” Becky Lynch heads to the ring. Lynch is dressed in red and wearing some extra sunglasses. Lee happily waves at her. The crowd loudly boos Lynch. Lynch says this has nothing to do with her “stank ass” husband. Lynch asks if everyone is insane. Has nobody noticed? Are they stupid? Of course they are. They’re in Milwaukee. AJ Lee is wearing her title. That is her title, the most important in the division. They are nothing alike because Lynch is the greatest female wrestler of all time. You can boo her all you like, but other people say it, including Sports Illustrated. A “You suck” chant picks up. Lynch is not happy and says she’ll need to go to therapy after this. Lee doesn’t deserve to put a finger on her title. Another “therapy” chant picks up.

Lee says this is so embarrassing because she forgot she was wearing the title. She’s been skipping around the house all weekend with it on. Lynch tells her to cut the crap. Lynch takes off her sunglasses and reveals a nasty black eye. Lee says she’s sporting quite the shiner. Was that something Lee did to her? Lee apologizes for doing that. Lee sarcastically says that since Lynch is the greatest of all time, she should come into the ring and take it. Lee lays it on the mat. Lynch starts heading to get into the ring, but she stops herself. A “chicken” chant picks up. Lynch says she is not a chicken. Lynch calls Lee a “Jersey trashbag weirdo.” Lynch wants her title. She has to bathe in bleach after touching her greasy husband. A “CM Punk” chant picks up. Lynch asks what kind of man hides behind his wife. Lee didn’t need to stick her neck into their Vision. Lynch calls for her “hot husband” to come out.

“BURN IT DOWN!”

World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins comes out to the stage. Lynch aggressively talks with him. Rollins says he’ll handle it. Rollins screams at the crowd to quiet down. This is very simple. They can make this super easy. Rollins tells Lee to give Lynch her Intercontinental Championship back, and they can all leave this dump of a city as soon as possible. Lee sarcastically says that it is a really good idea. She has a better idea. Lynch can come into the ring and take the title back, but she’ll risk getting another black eye. Or she can give her the title… if they agree to a tag match. AJ Lee and CM Punk versus Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins.

Rollins gives his title to Lynch as well as his sunglasses. A “CM Punk” chant picks up. Rollins says he knows she’s been gone for ten years, but that’s not how things work. Rollins is the World Heavyweight Champion. This is his show. These are his people. She doesn’t call the shots. Rollins calls the shots. He’ll come into the ring, take the title, give it back to his incredible wife, and that’ll be the end of it. Lee thanks him for “mansplaining.” Rollins gets in the ring, and Lee stands in his way. Rollins goes to get around her, but she continues to get in his way. Rollins is getting upset and warns her to listen. That title doesn’t belong to her. That is his title.

CM Punk walks up behind Lynch and walks by her. Punk gets in the ring and turns Rollins around for a Go to Sleep, but Rollins immediately escapes. A LOUD “CM Punk” chant picks up. Rollins is furious and accepts the match for Wrestlepalooza. They’re both done for. Lee picks up the Intercontinental Championship, kisses it, and throws it at Lynch’s feet. Punk and Lee embrace in the ring.

Mike’s Thoughts: Great to see AJ Lee back on Raw for the first time in over ten years. I remember recapping her final match on the Raw after WrestleMania. It wasn’t until a few weeks later that I realized I had recapped her final match. I’m excited to recap her return match at Wrestlepalooza, which is looking to be a STACKED show. The crowd was awesome throughout her promo, including with the “therapy” chant. That was pretty funny. It ended with kind of a dud because no one wanted to wait for Wrestlepalooza, so there wasn’t much of a reaction. The segment kind of just ended. It also ran slightly too long.

Penta pulls the top rope down to get Rusev out of the ring. Penta goes for a suicide dive, but Rusev punches him in the face. Rusev gets in the ring, and Penta hits him with Code Red for a two-count. Joe Tessitore called it a Mexican Destroyer.

Penta stomps away at Rusev, who has the wind knocked out of him. Penta goes to the second rope. Xavier Woods gets on the apron, but Penta kicks him off. Penta jumps at Rusev, but Rusev hits a Matchka Kick out of mid-air for the win.

Winner by Pinfall: Rusev

Rusev shouts, “Fear me now!” Rusev has the referee raise his arm. The New Day and Waller mock Penta at ringside.

Mike’s Thoughts: This was an ok match. They had a little trouble navigating around the style clash. It feels like they’re sandbagging Penta a bit after he hurt Xavier Woods’ neck a few weeks ago.

“Main Event” Jey Uso runs down for the surprise save. Jey superkicks Reed and punches away at Breakker. Jey superkicks Reed again. Breakker then hits Jey with a Spear. Breakker stacks the Usos up. Reed heads to the top rope, but Knight hits him with a steel chair. Knight throws the chair into Breakker’s face and chases The Vision off. Knight checks on Jey and asks if they’re good. Knight helps Jimmy up. Knight and Jimmy shake hands. Jey then hits Knight with a huge Spear! Jey angrily looks at his brother as the show ends.

Mike’s Thoughts: Man, it really feels like we get some iteration of the exact same thing every week. This whole run with The Vision is becoming increasingly creatively bankrupt. Is this all they’ve got for the fall? The repetition is torturous. Sure, every now and then they throw in a stipulation to shake things up, like the Extreme Rules Match a few weeks ago, but usually it’s either a DQ or interference finish, followed by the faces making a save only to get ultimately beaten down. I’m begging for a little variety. I even wonder if the talent themselves are begging for something new. It’s the same thing every week.

Quick Match Results
