Former WWE and AEW star Andrade El Idolo made his surprise return on the 6-Year Anniversary episode of Dynamite on Wednesday night.
Andrade appeared after Kenny Omega was in the ring, thanking the fans for supporting AEW over the past six-years. After Omega finished his promo, the venue suddenly went dark and went the light came back up, a masked man standing next to Omega revealed himself to be Andrade. He then attacked Omega, aligning himself with Don Callis.
Andrade was released from WWE in March 2021 and then debuted on the June 4, 2021 episode of AEW Dynamite. He would remain with AEW until the end of 2023, making his return to WWE during the 2024 Royal Rumble.
Back on September 14, it was reported Andrade’s departure from WWE was not a mutual decision. It was added that he had at least one wellness violation during his most recent tenure with WWE and it had nothing to do with his divorce from Charlotte Flair.
