AEW’s All In pay-per-view at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas this past July qualified for public reimbursement funds through the Texas Event Trust Fund program. However, AEW will receive a reduced amount due to attendance being less than estimated.
According to records obtained by Wrestlenomics, the governor’s office initially approved just over $1 million in combined state and local funding to help cover AEW’s expenses for the PPV. However, AEW is getting reimbursed less than the $1 million for the lower attendance.
The report notes that after the PPV, city officials submitted documentation certifying the actual attendance to be 23,759, with spectator attendance at 21,973. It was specifically stated that the spectator number reflects how many tickets were actually scanned for people who entered into the venue. The final estimate given by WrestleTix was 27,245. Records also show that 678 suite tickets were sold, but only 274 were scanned for admission into the stadium. though only 274 were scanned for admission.
The report further notes 6,300 fans came to All In from outside Texas and just over 4,600 fans within in the Dallas and Arlington area attended the event.
During the All In post-show press conference, Tony Khan said that he thought after it was all said and done, the estimated attendance was closer to 29,000 with a gate at over $3 million.
Wrestlenomics also indicates AEW could end up getting up to $700,000 in reimbursements, which are intended to go toward the costs of putting on All In at Globe Life Field.
It was added that Arlington City Manager Trey Yelverton said he was pleased AEW brought its major event to the city and appreciate how many people it drew from outside the area.
