It is Wednesday, my dudes…you know what that means!
Commentary welcomes us to the show before running down the lineup for the night. Some news on the 4-Way Tag match as the winners will get to choose their first-round opponents, and with that we go to…
Video Package: Highlights from a remarkable AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view event!
We cut to footage from after the PPV, with Hangman Adam Page in the trainer’s room. The champ is angry about what The Opps did to him after the title match at WrestleDream, promising to ruin Samoa Joe when he sees him.
We head to ringside for our opening contest, as The Opps head down the ramp to defend the AEW World Trios Championship. Out next are the Hurt Syndicate, making their way out to a big pop from the crowd as they head to the ring to get this match underway!
AEW Trios Championships Match: The Opps (Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata and Powerhouse Hobbs) defends against The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley, MVP and Shelton Benjamin)
After a staredown between both teams, we start things off with Shibata and Benjamin. Shibata with a side headlock, but Shelton breaks free for one of his own. Shibata counters, before being sent to the mat by Benjamin for an ankle lock…but The Wrestler counters once more. He looks for a cover but gets rolled up by Benjamin for a nearfall instead.
Lashley tags in, and it doesn’t take long for Hobbs to tag in as well amidst “meat” chants from the crowd…only for Joe to tag himself in instead. Lashley’s had enough waiting around, sending Joe into the corner for strikes before the ref intervenes. Bobby gets sent into the corner now, Joe fighting back as he mocks the former tag champion. Lashley responds by taking Joe to the mat before bringing him back up for an Irish whip to the corner and a tag to Benjamin. Shelton goes up top, but Joe dodges him…only for Benjamin to land on his feet.
Joe tags in Hobbs, and the Powerhouse sends Benjamin to the outside before Lashley comes in. Shibata comes in, followed by MVP and Joe as things break down. MVP gets sent to the outside before Benjamin hits a running knee on Joe…only for Hobbs to take him down hard, allowing Joe to a running senton. The Opps take control as we go to ad break.
-FULL AD BREAK (ON HBO MAX)-
Back from break, Joe has Benjamin in the corner as he pummels away before bringing him to the middle for a chinlock. The ref checks on Shelton, who slowly gets back to a vertical base to break free of the hold…but Joe shoves him toward the corner for some more strikes!
Joe gets Benjamin to the ropes for even more damage, but Shelton starts to fights back…eventually taking Joe to the mat with a DDT, and a tag to Lashley! Shibata tags in as well, and Bobby tosses him around with ease before landing a shot in the corner and taking The Wrestler to the canvas. He sends the rest of the Opps off the apron before taking Shibata down with a Dominator…before Hobbs rushes into the ring for a standoff with Lashley amidst more “meat” chants.
The two trade strikes until Lashley spins the Powerhouse around for a Hurt Lock, only for Hobbs to break free. Both men take each other out with a shoulder tackle, and Lashley slowly gets up only to take a PK from Shibata, who gets a nearfall for the effort. MVP gets the tag, as does Samoa Joe…who gets sent to the mat by MVP, who goes Ballin’ for an elbow drop and the cover. Shibata breaks the pin and things break down once again between all six men…before Joe goes for a Coquina Clutch on MVP.
MVP counters with a jawbreaker before the hold is cinched in, and he goes for a Playmaker before Ricochet runs down to the apron for a distraction. This allows Joe to counter for a Coquina Clutch, and MVP is forced to submit!
Winners via submission and still AEW World Trios Champions: The Opps
The Hurt Syndicate chase after The Demand to the back, as Tony Schiavone enters the ring to interview the champions, namely Samoa Joe, to find out why they did what they did on Saturday at WrestleDream. Joe runs down San Antonio before insisting that Page is not the man he says he is. He mocks the champ, saying he will slap Page around (among other things, I’m not sure I can repeat verbatim here) before saying The Opps are never lacking.
Earlier Today…Mercedes Moné arrives in a fancy ride with her championships in tow for the celebration later tonight.
Backstage, Kris Statlander addresses beating Toni Storm at WrestleDream and the challenge by Mercedes Moné. She mocks Moné for what she hasn’t been able to do, accepting the challenge for Full Gear before telling Moné have a good celebration tonight.
-Commercial Break-
We head back to ringside as Darby Allin’s music hits, bringing out the man that would not quit at WrestleDream as Darby hits the stage. He walks down the ramp, holding the AEW flag that he’s had since his trip to Mount Everest as he approaches the ring.
He steps through the ropes, draping the flag over the AEW logo in the middle of the ring as the crowd chants his name. Darby also has a microphone, and he addresses the people who said he could never be the face of this company. They said he might go and get himself killed, and that’s bad for PR…but he argues the opposite, saying he’s willing to go places for this company that no one else would!
He talks about the scars he still has from Saturday, before saying as long as the Death Riders are still breathing…Darby Allin will never be far behind. The crowd cheers as Darby grabs the flag and leaves the ring.
We go to footage from after WrestleDream, as Jack Perry talks about what it means for he and Luchasaurus to be out there again. Starting now, we’re here to take it all, addressing “whoever has OUR World Tag Team titles.”
With that, we head back to ringside for our next match. Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford are the first team entering the ring for this 4-Way Tag Match, with big implications at play regarding the upcoming tournament to crown the inaugural AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions. Out next are Skye Blue and Julia Hart, representing the Triangle of Madness as commentary addresses the challenge made by Jamie Hayter for Blood and Guts.
Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale enter next in matching gear, clearly meshing well after their debut as a team at WrestleDream. Rounding out the competitors are Queen Aminata and Jamie Hayter, who gets a big pop from the crowd as the pair head to the ring to get this match underway!
4-Way Tag Team Match: Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford vs. Jamie Hayter and Queen Aminata vs. Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale vs. Skye Blue and Julia Hart
We start off with Skye and Willow, the latter taking control as she sends Blue to the mat. Tag to Harley for a double-team, and a side slam by Nightingale leads to a wheelbarrow splash by Cameron for a nearfall. Skye fights back before taking a couple kicks, dodging a third for a thrust kick of her own. Blind tag by Penelope, and the two get into it before Ford goes after Cameron to send her into the corner.
Tag to Bayne now, who drives her shoulder into the midsection of Cameron. Megan and Ford look for a double suplex but Willow intervenes, only to be sent to the outside as the Sisters of Sin look to inflict some pain. Harley rolls away for a tag to Hayter, who goes after Bayne with force…only for the Megasus to counter a suplex. Hayter regains control, sending Megan to the corner for a tag to Aminata.
They look to double-team Bayne, who responds with a suplex on both women before diving onto the group of ladies on the outside as we go to a full ad break!
-FULL AD BREAK (ON HBO MAX)-
We come back to see Skye get a blind tag going after Aminata, who takes the Sisters out before tagging in Willow out of desperation. Nightingale sends Hart and Blue into the corner for a hip attack, slamming Hart down before landing a spinebuster on Skye for a two count.
Harley comes in for an assist, but Megan stops a Doctor Bomb attempt before Cameron goes after the Megasus. Bayne drags Skye to her corner for a tag to Penelope, who gets launched at Willow by Megan for a nearfall. Skye and Hart go after Bayne, but they take a stunner by Ford into a German suplex by the Megasus.
She goes after Willow now, hoisting her up on her shoulders…but Nightingale breaks free, sending Bayne into Ford! Bayne drops to the floor as Hayter gets a blind tag from Willow, going after Penelope herself before Aminata joins in for a double-team. Headbutt by the Queen leads into a Hayterade for the pin and the win!
Winners via pinfall: Jamie Hayter and Queen Aminata
Hayter makes good on what the team has won here, choosing the Sisters of Sin as their first-round opponents to a big pop from the crowd.
Backstage, the Young Bucks want a money match. They say they’ll fight anyone, and team with anyone for this match. Tony Khan comes out and accepts, putting up $400,000 in a 4-on-4 All-Star match for Collision, eventually revealing that it will be Jurassic Express and JetSpeed versus the Young Bucks and…these guys.
He opens the door wider, and we see FTR step out alongside Big Stoke, the latter talking about the teams’ history ahead of the big match on Saturday.
-Commercial Break-
We head to ringside as Renee makes an introduction hyping up Mercede Moné’s recent victories, welcoming “12-Belt Moné” to the ring as a group of men head out to the ramp with the procession of belts…only for Mini Moné to appear in the ring instead, to a big pop.
She talks about bad things happening in threes, before the CEO’s music hits again to reveal a very angry Mercedes Moné, telling the boys and Renee to leave. She runs down Harley for making a mockery of her, poking fun at Harley begging her to be a tag partner and disrespecting the title celebration. She calls the fans “stupid, dumb marks” before shoving the puppet’s face into the cake. She pulls out Harley Cameron from under the table…only for Kris Statlander to appear as well, hoisting the CEO up and sending her through the table!
Big pop for Statlander and Cameron, as we’re left with a fallen CEO in cake and table pieces before we cut away.
We get a vignette from after WrestleDream, as Jon Moxley deals with accepting his failure that night against Darby Allin. He says nobody in pro wrestling does what he does, running down the business for not meeting the standard he has set. He says Darby made him a liar…but he knows who he is when he looks at himself in the mirror.
We head to ringside as Kyle O’Reilly makes his entrance for our next match, before Jon Moxley enters through the crowd to get this match underway!
Jon Moxley vs. Kyle O’Reilly
Kyle looks for a kick on Mox to start things off, as Mox backs away. O’Reilly gets a hold on Mox, only for Mox to turn it around with an arm drag. Kyle captures a leg hook on Mox, who quickly scrambles to the ropes for a break.
Both men back on their feet as O’Reilly takes a hold of the arm of Mox, bringing him down to the mat before Mox turns it around for a cross arm breaker. Kyle manages to escape, trapping both arms for a nearfall on Moxley…before catching Mox with a flying armbar!
Mox tries to break free, but instead gets to his feet for a boot to the face of O’Reilly to break the hold. He starts to turn things around, catching the leg of Kyle before biting him on the head…and then shoving him away as we go to ad break.
-FULL AD BREAK (ON HBO MAX)-
Back from break, Mox gets sent to the floor by O’Reilly as the crowd continues reminding Moxley of his quitting at WrestleDream. Kyle follows him to the outside for a dropkick off the apron, before bringing Mox back to the ring. The two men fight on their feet until Mox gets caught on the ropes, allowing Kyle to lay in some more kicks for good measure before sending Mox to the mat. He brings him to the corner before getting a hammerlock, going for a guillotine on Moxley…transitioning into a triangle choke!
Mox uses his strength to get to the ropes for a break…before catapulting O’Reilly into the ropes! The fight ends up on the apron, where Kyle wrings Mox’s arm to send him onto the hardest part of the ring. Mox moves back into the ring as O’Reilly goes up top for a knee drop, targeting the leg before making the cover.
Mox narrowly kicks out, catching O’Reilly in a cross arm breaker before Kyle reverses into an ankle lock. Mox counters for a chinlock, but O’Reilly gets a cross arm breaker of his own on Mox…who brings Kyle up for a lariat to break free! Stalling piledriver connects, but Kyle kicks out…only for Mox to cinch in a bulldog choke. The move is loose enough for O’Reilly to get to the ropes for a break, and he dodges a curb stomp for a chop block.
Rolling elbow connects, and Kyle manages to get an ankle lock after missing a rebound lariat. Mox is desperate to not give up, choosing instead to blatantly strike the ref with a forearm blow! Other refs rush to the ring, calling for the disqualification!
Winner via disqualification: Kyle O’Reilly
Things break down like crazy as The Conglomeration rush down to intervene on Kyle’s behalf, with the Death Riders coming in as well before they end up taking their leave from the ring as we go to commercial.
-Commercial Break-
We come back to ringside and our next match is already underway!
Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, and Daniel Garcia) vs. The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy and Mark Briscoe) and Roderick Strong
Cassidy and Yuta go at it, trading nearfalls in the process. Yuta evades an Orange Punch attempt to tag in Garcia, who gets the upper hand on Cassidy before gloating to the crowd. This allows Mark Briscoe to tag in, and he lands some hard shots on Daniel before the latter turns it around. This doesn’t last long as Briscoe gets the drop on Garcia to a tag to Strong.
He takes Garcia to his limit before a tag gets made to Claudio, who gets a flurry of offense by Strong. Roderick gets sent to the corner, where he knocks off Garcia and Yuta before going back at it with Castagnoli…who sends him to the outside. Strong deals with Yuta before looking for a dive on Claudio who catches him, only to be sent to the barricade for a backbreaker from Roderick.
Castagnoli is sent back in the ring, but Yuta keeps Roderick distracted long enough for Claudio to strike back…and the Death Riders are firmly in control going into ad break.
-FULL AD BREAK (ON HBO MAX)-
Back from break, we find Roderick and Claudio continuing the fight until they drop to the mat. Yuta gets a tag first followed closely by Cassidy, who sends Wheeler out of the ring. Yuta and Garcia rush into the ring but finds themselves being sent right back out by Orange, before Claudio comes running in. He takes Cassidy out but Mark Briscoe comes in, fighting off Castagnoli and Yuta at the same time.
Claudio gets sent out as Wheeler starts to fight back, only for Briscoe to take him down for a nearfall. He looks for a Jay Driller but Garcia intervenes, and things quickly turn to chaos between all six men until Yuta takes a big palm strike.
He takes Briscoe down on the rebound, and a Busaiku Knee takes Briscoe out for a nearfall before Strong breaks up the pin attempt. He and Claudio leave the ring as Yuta hits some hammer and elbow shots. Briscoe breaks free, but Yuta gets out of a Jay Driller only to be hit by a short-arm lariat…allowing Mark to land the Jay Driller on him for the win!
Winners via pinfall: The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy and Mark Briscoe) and Roderick Strong
No time for celebration as PAC rushes down to go after Briscoe. Tomohiro Ishii comes out for the save, but Mox makes his way out to the ring allowing Marina to low blow Tomohiro. Death Riders look to launch Orange Cassidy into the announce table before Darby comes out, landing a baseball bat shot on the leg of Castagnoli. Death Riders take their leave through the crowd as we cut away.
Backstage we hear from an incensed Mercedes Moné, who is quickly interrupted by Athena. She talks about both women making legacies of their own, before offering to make one together as AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions. Mercedes likes the sound of that, and Athena tells her they’re gonna get her cleaned up and ready for Minion Training.
Back at ringside, Kyle Fletcher and Don Callis make an entrance as the crowd tells Callis how they feel about him. Fletcher tells San Antonio to say his full name, before talking up his defense against Mark Briscoe at WrestleDream. This will not be back and forth, this is done between them. He gets slightly annoyed at some minor mic troubles before saying he will be TNT Champion for a very, very, verrrryyy…
“Reach for the sky, boy!”
Mark Briscoe makes his way out to the ring to “retort” so to speak after what went down on Saturday. He’s not looking to go a million more times against Fletcher, he’s just looking for one more shot. What do you say, Kyle?
Don speaks on behalf of Fletcher, having something to say to Briscoe. Mark is a great wrestler and a great athlete, Don has respect for him, but Briscoe is sounding desperate. He acknowledges the kids Mark has…and calls them a financial burden.
Briscoe needs a family like the Don Callis Family. Don says he is telling Mark what he needs to hear, telling him no on the TNT Title match. Fletcher’s music hits as he and Briscoe stare each other down, before we go to commercial.
-Commercial Break-
Back from break, we get the brackets for the AEW Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament, which kicks off next week!
Backstage, we hear from Mina Shirakawa who talks about teaming with Toni Storm in the tournament before Thekla interrupts. This leads to Mina challenging Thekla to a match at Collision, which the Toxic Spider accepts.
We head back to ringside for our main event, as Bandido makes his entrance for this AEW Unified Championship match. Out next is the champion himself as Kazuchika Okada heads to the ring to get this match underway!
AEW Unified Championship Match: Kazuchika Okada defends against ROH World Champion Bandido
Crowd cheers as the two men finally lock up, with Bandido sending the champ to the ropes before the ref intervenes. He sends Okada to the ropes again but is taken down to the mat, before the challenger goes to the ropes again…sending Okada down hard!
He makes his gun motion at Okada, who swats it away before clubbing away at the ROH World Champion. This leads to Bandido sending the Unified Champion to the outside, only to be forced to chase him around the ring…and right into a boot by Okada! He fights Bandido on the guardrail before mocking the challenger’s family in the front row.
Okada brings Bandido to his feet, before the challenger turns it around with a DDT off the apron sending the champ down hard to the floor as we go to an ad break.
-FULL AD BREAK (ON HBO MAX)-
Back from break, Okada has taken control as he lands an elbow drop on the challenger in the ring. He mocks the crowd, and this allows Bandido to take control with a torneo before sending the champ to the outside for a dive. He brings Okada back in the ring, setting up for a frog splash that gets a close two count.
Okada rolls to the apron before Bandido intercepts, only to get hung up by his arm on the ropes. The champ rolls back into the ring, going after the arm of Bandido before the luchador fights back…only for Okada to kick at the injured shoulder.
Okada lifts Bandido up, looking like he’s going for a tombstone piledriver but instead landing a shoulderbreaker on the challenger. Bandido rolls out of the ring, consulting the medic due to his condition…and Okada can just about smell the proverbial blood in the water, running after the challenger to bring him back in the ring.
He goes after the shoulder some more, before Bandido counters out. He brings the champ up for an X-Knee but Okada breaks free…only for the luchador to get it on the second try! He hits the ropes and lands a 21 Plex, but he struggles for the cover…and this allows the champ a chance to kick out at two!
Bandido brings Okada tot he corner, setting him up on the corner before Okada counters looking for a powerbomb…but Bandido reverses into a hurricanrana! Okada catches the challenger by surprise, only to be cradled by Bandido for a two count.

Winner via pinfall and still AEW Unified Champion: Kazuchika Okada
The rest of the Don Callis Family makes their way out to celebrate alongside Okada…until Konosuke Takeshita’s music hits, getting a big pop from the crowd as the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion heads down the ramp. Callis and Fletcher leave the ring, trying to keep things calm with the Alpha as Okada just seems to smile at the situation before standing tall with the rest of the Family to bring Dynamite to a close.
