WCW Nitro kicks off with the legendary Nitro intro.

Eric Bischoff welcomes everyone to the show as pyro goes off. The camera cuts to the ring announcers and McMichael is with his pet dog. They talk about Hulk Hogan against Sting that will be on the show.

Scott Norton vs. Shark

As Norton is coming down to the ring, Shark hits him from behind and they both begin to fight outside of the ring. Shark throws Norton into the ring as the bell rings and we are under way.

Shark with a bear hug take down followed by an elbow drop. Norton with right hands but Shark with a right hand. Shark throws him into the corner and lands a splash. Shark with a right hand but Norton on his feet and Norton with right hands. Norton with a powerslam. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.

Winner: Scott Norton

Roy’s thoughts: I liked that they started off with talking about Hulk Hogan and Sting to really get people going about the main event. As for the match itself, not much about it.

-Commercial Break-

Gene Okerlund is at the entrance ramp with Jimmy Hart and Kevin Sullivan. Hart tells him that tonight is Sting’s night. He says Sting is the one that gave Hulk Hogan his stamp of approval when Hogan came to WCW but now Hogan has a new best friend and it’s Randy Savage.

We see clips of Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage in an episode of Baywatch and Hart asks Sting if he was asked to be part of that episode. Sullivan talks about World War 3 and says that they have waited a long time for Hulk Hogan to be in the ring with Dungeon of Doom.

The camera cuts to the announce team and they talk about how much Hulk Hogan can trust Randy Savage.

Disco Inferno’s music hits and out he comes dancing. As he is dancing, Eddie Guerrero’s music hits and Disco Inferno runs away.

Eddie Guerrero vs. Brian Pillman with Ric Flair

The announce team mention that it was supposed to be Ric Flair against Eddie Guerrero. Flair comes out in pants and a blazer. He grabs a microphone and says that they thought he was going to come out and wrestle Guerrero. But he is so focused on Sting that he has decided to let the great Flyin Brian Pillman have the honors of beating Guerrero.

The bell rings and we are under way. Pillman with a slap to the face followed by an elbow to the face and chops to the chest. Pillman runs towards Eddie but Eddie with an elbow to the face followed by a drop kick and a right hand. Eddie with a back suplex. Eddie climbs the top rope and jumps but Pillman with a drop kick. He goes for the cover but Eddie kicks out. Pillman throws Eddie to the ropes but Eddie rolls him up and Pillman kicks out. Eddie with chops to the chest. Eddie to the ropes but Pillman with a back body drop. He goes for the cover but Eddie kicks out. Pillman with a right hand followed by a suplex. He goes for the cover but Eddie kicks out. Pillman with a chop to the chest but Eddie with a chop to the chest.

Pillman with a snap mare take down followed by a head lock. Eddie gets to his feet and Eddie to the ropes but Pillman with a slam. He goes for the cover but Eddie kicks out. Pillman gets in Eddie’s face but Eddie with right hands. Pillman on the ring apron and he throws Eddie to the outside of the ring. Pillman climbs the top rope and jumps but Eddie moves out of the way and Pillman ladns onto the guardrail. Eddie climbs the top rope and he lands a splash onto Pillman. Eddie throws Pillman back into the ring. Eddie gets back in the ring and he lands a brain buster. Eddie climbs the top rope but Pillman gets to his feet and falls onto the top rope as Eddie slips on the top rope. Pillman climbs the top rope but Eddie with right hands. Eddie pushes Pillman down and Eddie with the frog splash. He goes for the cover and gets the pin.

Winner: Eddie Guerrero

Roy’s thoughts: A fun match but crazy to think that both of these guys have passed away. Both guys were a lot of fun to watch in the ring.

-Commmercial Break-

We see clips of last week’s show where Lex Luger injured Randy Savage’s arm.

Big Bubba vs. Road Warrior Hawk

As Hawk is coming down to the ring, he attacks Bubba from behind. Hawks throws Bubba into the ring and he hits him with a clothesline. Hawk with right hands followed by a body slam. Hawk climbs the top rope and goes for a splash but Bubba moves out of the way. Bubba with right hands followed by a clothesline. Bubba with a headbutt. He throws Hawk to the ropes but Hawk with right hands. Hawk to the ropes but Bubba with a spine buster. Bubba goes for the cover but Hawk kicks out. Bubba with a right hand but Hawk with a right hand. Hawk climbs the top rope and goes for a splash but Bubba moves out of the way. Bubba grabs a roll of quarters but out comes Duggan who trips Bubba up and Bubba hits himself in the face and falls to the mat. Hawk goes for the cover and gets the pin.

Winner: Road Warrior Hawk

Roy’s thoughts: Not much in this one but crazy too that both of these guys would go back to the WWF.

-Commercial Break-

Sting vs. Hulk Hogan with Randy Savage

Hogan comes from in between the crowd wearing all black and a black mask. Hogan taps Sting on the shoulder and Sting turns around. Both men are face to face. Hogan pushes Sting and Sting with a kick as the bell rings and we are under way. Sting with right hands and kicks. Sting grabs Hogan but Hogan throws Sting into the corner and lands a clothesline. Hogan with a right hand. Hogan throws Sting to the ropes but Sting with a drop kick and Hogan falls to the outside of the ring. Hogan grabs Sting to the outside and he slams Sting face first into the ring apron and into the barricade. Hogan with a suplex and he throws Sting back into the ring. Hogan gets in the ring and Hogan with a rake to the back and he throws Sting to the ropes but Sting with a cross body. He goes for the cover but Hogan kicks out. Sting with a hammer lock but Hogan with a drop toe hold take down

Hogan grabs Sting but Sting with an arm bar followed by a right hand. Hogan gets out of it and gets Sting in a head lock but Sting gets out of it. Sting with kicks. Sting throws Hogan into the corner and Sting goes for the Stinger’s splash but Hogan gets him in a bear hug and he throws Sting down onto the mat. Hogan goes for the cover but Sting kicks out. Hogan with a back suplex followed by a suplex. He goes for the cover but Sting kicks out. Hogan throws Sting to the ropes but Sting with a kick to the leg and he kicks Hogan down. Sting with the Scorpion Death Lock but Hogan powers out of it. Sting with a right hand but Hogan begins to Hulk up. Hogan with a right hand followed by a big boot. Hogan goes for the leg drop but Sting moves out of the way. Hogan holds his leg and Sting gets him in the Scorpion Death Lock. Hogan grabs the referee and out come the Legion of Doom. They hit Randy Savage at ring side and get in the ring. They hit Sting and Hogan as the referee calls for the bell.

Winner: No contest

In comes The Giant and he goes for a double chokeslam onto Sting and Hogan but Savage hits him from behind with a steel chair. The Giant turns around and he hits Savage with the Chokeslam.

Sting and Hogan grab the chair and hit The Giant with it and he falls over the top rope and to the outside of the ring. The Legion of Doom hold The Giant back.

Roy’s thoughts: It has to be said, this was not very good. The fans seemed to like Sting more than Hogan too. They were always going to have the Legion of Doom get involved especially because Sting and Hogan were not going to lose.

-Commercial Break-

Kevin Sullivan and Jimmy Hart are with the announce team and they are angry at them. Sullivan and Jimmy Hart are yelling at them and they leave. Heenan asks McMichael and Bischoff what they think they will do at World War 3 in the match as Nitro goes off the air.

Roy’s thoughts: A pretty good show but this was all about the Sting and Hogan match. Two short matches, one good wrestling match and one with two massive stars.
