As first reported and confirmed by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, former AEW star Powerhouse Hobbs has officially signed with WWE.
His final match with AEW was a World Trios Championship match on the January 17 episode of Collision, that saw The Opps (Hobbs, Samoa Joe and Katsuyori Shibata) drop the titles to Hangman Adam Page and JetSpeed. That match was taped on January 14. Hobbs’ contract expired at midnight eastern time on January 15.
The now 35-year old Hobbs first signed with AEW back in 2020 and made his debut in July of that year working matches on AEW’s YouTube show Dark under the name of Will Hobbs. He is also a former TNT Champion.
This past Tuesday, WWE filed to trade mark the name ‘Royce Keys’ which is believed to be the name Hobbs will have when he makes his debut with the company.
