Report: AJ Styles and WWE reach new deal for him to work in a backstage role

PWInsider is reporting, that according to multiple sources, WWE and AJ Styles have come to terms on a new for him to continue working with the company in a backstage role.

The report also notes it is believed Styles will be helping with the developmental of talent, although that has not been confirmed as of this writing. Back on February 18, Styles was reportedly spotted at WWE’s Performance Center in Orlando, Florida.

During the 2/25 episode of Talk N Shop with Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, said he would still be working with WWE and has dreams of helping younger talent.

Styles retired from in-ring competition, after his loss to Gunther at the Royal Rumble back on January 31. WWE held a tribute to Styles during this past Monday’s Raw in Atlanta. Towards the end of the segment, The Undertaker down to the ring to announce that Styles would be the newest inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame.

We reported on Wednesday that Justin Barrasso at Undisputed, after speaking with those close to Styles, said he was ‘well aware’ that AEW head Tony Khan would have made him a “substantial offer” with a favorable schedule if he chose to wrestle outside of WWE.
