New report on Ricochet’s insensitive MS post on X

According to a new report from Fightful Select, AEW Producer Chris Hero convinced Ricochet to delete the insensitive post on X, in which he told a fan he was glad she had multiple sclerosis. The former National Champion was responding to the fan who said his acting had not improved.

Ricochet publicly apologized the following day and then removed the post from X. Fightful Select wrote in their report, “Those that we spoke to in AEW say that Chris Hero was the person who reached out to Ricochet to give him advice on the disrespectful MS tweet.”

However, Dave Meltzer had reported on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that Ricochet removing the post was not due to influence by AEW or Warner Bros. Discovery, but something he did on his own after talking to a friend.

“…What ended up happening was, one of his friends called him and said, ‘You know, you really should take the tweet down.’ So he took the tweet down. And upon thinking about it, he then apologized. Nobody forced his apology or anything like that. He decided to apologize and he did.”

Before the post was removed, Wrasslin Graps captured the interaction with Ricochet and the fan.

Ricochet lost the AEW National Championship to “Jungle” Jack Perry in a 21-Man Blackjack Battle Royale at last Sunday’s Revolution PPV pre-show. Ricochet did not appeared on this week’s AEW programming. Ricochet is still scheduled to wrestle Rich Swann at the ROH x Maple Leaf Pro show, which will take place next weekend at St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
